the invasion. hillary clinton's lead has tightens in the latest cnn poll of polls. cnn's jason carroll has the latest from north carolina. >> reporter: john and christine, at the trump rally in kinston, he went over a few familiar points. first about the polls. he says the national polls and battleground polls show him behind hillary clinton are wrong. he did say that a recent poll out of the state of florida showing him up by two points. that one is right. saying that those long lines of early voters. many people stand in the lines are in fact trump supporters. also going after hillary clinton on the issue of obamacare and rising insurance premiums. he also took a moment to defend going off the campaign trail for a brief time to promote his new hotel in washington, d.c. >> so i thought i would take an hour or two and run in and cut the ribbon with them at the

building. to show you how low she is, she said trump took time off the campaign trail to open a hotel. now she'll do one stop. i'm telling you, she wants to sleep all the time. this is not what we need. this is not what we need as a president. >> reporter: at an earlier rally in charlotte, trump again made an effort to reach out to african-americans offering what he calls his version of a new deal. laying out a plan to improve jobs, safety and education in that community. once again making an effort to broaden his base and reach african-americans. he also took aim at hillary clinton saying that she has low energy. trump for his part will be making three stops in ohio later today. john, christine. >> jason carroll, thank you. trump is claiming he will

open his wallet and put more money in the campaign. dana bash caught up with him outside the hotel in washington, d.c. >> i have over $100 million in the campaign. hillary clinton has nothing in the campaign. she is all special interests and donors. they give her the money and she will do whatever they tell her to do. i will tell have $100 million in the campaign. i'm prepared to go more than that. >> trump has a lot of spending to do if he wants to reach that. the latest numbers show trump loaned his campaign $47.5 million through the end of september. he says he won't take paybacks from the campaign on that money. trump has contributed $8.5 million over the course of the election. about $56 million. his campaign started with $35 million in cash. he spent $185 million so far. his timing on these comments is also interesting. his contributions from october 1st to october 19th will be released later today. donations after that date are not public until december.

we won't know how big a check trump has written to the campaign until after the election. new this morning, the clinton campaign is asking some of the biggest donors to put money behind senate candidates. clinton has no more big fund-raisers left in the campaign. the clinton camp is asking to send cash to super pacs for harry reid. the democrats need to pick up four seats to retake control of the senate. huge moment on the trail today for hillary clinton. she is bringing out the biggest of big guns in democratic terms. first lady michelle obama. cnn's phil mattingly is in florida with more. >> reporter: john and christine, no question the clinton campaign has gotten a lot more comfortab comfortable. she has a six-point lead cons t

this. trump has support in the northern part of the state in the panhandle. that vote will make the race close. democrats in the state are pointing to the early vote numbers. important early vote numbers where they feel they are doing much better than 2012. that is before in-person early voting start this weekend. no question about it. florida is crucial. this state at 29 electoral votes. without the state, trump has no chance of winning the white house without some other crazy things happening. that is why hillary clinton has spent the last couple days in florida and back this weekend. they know florida is where they shut the door on the trump campaign. thank you. latest on the wikileaks hack show a clinton foundation doing well and good for bill clinton. the e-mail written by a former

aide. he and an associate played raising funds for the foundation and turning relationships with corporate donors into big speaking fees for the former president. the memo notes one donors ubs hired bill clinton to give several speeches for which it paid $1.5 million. you pointed out he was side by side with george bush. the democratic national committee is accusing the trump campaign of voter suppression. the dnc says the trump claims the election is rigged rests on voter fraud in minority communities. the rnc is giving support to the claims aimed at banning voter suppression activity. the rnc calls the lawsuit meritless.

more of the deep seeded skepticisms of the things they were doing and why they did certain things. her trustworthiness has been the main achilles heel. this is not going to help her. >> and we are in days now where trump has had a few days that were by comparison better than the days he was having last week. part of it was the obamacare premiums. right now the race is where? >> she has an edge with the cnn poll of polls. she is up by seven points. that is not a huge switch. it is not tied. you look at some of the swing states where you have seen in florida and nevada and other places where you see a slight tightening there. some of that is naturally at the end of a race. all the people who are undecided. few people undecided start to make up their minds and those

the latest now on the battle for mosul. tens of thousands of troops moving close to the city. the group sending in hundreds of suicide squad fighters from syria ahead of the battle. i want to bring in cnn's michael holmes near mosul. >> reporter: good morning, christine. we got word of the squads of suicide bombers coming in from syria to mosul in the last couple days. hundreds of them by reports wearing distinctive uniforms and suicide belts for effect as they entered the city. obviously they are there to fight to the death. they are mainly foreigners, we are told. also hearing that isis fighters moving from east of the city to the west of the city across the tigres river.

four main bridges with explosives as they left. we are getting word from mosul today of three houses being bombed by coalition war planes overnight. locals say the houses were occupied by experts in anti-tank and anti-aircraft weaponry. also more reports of isis members shaving their beards. obviously trying to plan ahead to blend in with the local population. something both feared and expected. >> thank you, michael holmes. stay safe. two strong earthquakes hitting italy 50 miles from the site of the quake back in august that killed 300 people. just hours after a 5.5 magnitude quake near the town of visso wednesday. a 6.1 quake struck in the same region. no reported injuries, but there are reports of historic buildings damaged or destroyed.

obama and mitt romney. i suppose you could look at this. if you are a democrat, hillary clinton is six points up on donald trump. you know, barack obama was tied with mitt romney. if you are a republican, you say it is four points off. this shows the polls may be wrong and donald trump will come from behind and win. >> i think the one thing we know is the polls are never exactly right. there will be something that happens on election day. will it swing toward her or him? that's why you have the thing called margin of error that shows they are up or down. pay attention to that. they are never exactly right. and we'll have to see. i think however you can say without any reservation that hillary clinton has been ahead in polls for a long while now. that suggests she has the lead. i'm not sure republicans can really dispute that. >> polls show right now. the reporting of that six-point
