stay tune. >> nicole: fed wraps up a two-day policy meeting today and expected not to raise interest rates. six weeks ago the feds raised interest rates in almost a decade. the investors are watching the fed's statements, what they say about the economy. just comes two days before the first look at gdp is released and that report is expect today show a sharp slowdown in u.s. economic growth. >> lauren: let's get you caught up in global market action. shanghai down. could have been way worse. hang seng and kospi each up 1%. >> nicole: in europe, looking at the ftse, cac, and dax all down arrows, the worst of the bunch is the cac quarante. >> lauren: dow is selling off to the tune of 96 points. s&p 15 points. nasdaq futures 46.

futures are selling off this morning. dow futures to the downside by 81 points. s&p 13, nasdaq down 43 points. >> nicole: watching oil so carefully. has been the driver of the markets. right now 30.26. losing 3.7%. you know what else is down? gold is down two bucks this morning. >> lauren: we have to talk about apple shares today. iphones sales grew at the slowest pace since introduction back in 2007. apple forecast declining renew in the current quarter, that would be the first revenue decline since 2003, one problem that apple's newest phone have fewer noticeable changes and they're not generating much excitement among consumers, apple shares are down 3% in premarket trading here and they're down sharply over the past year in double digits. >> nicole: facebook 68 cents a share up from 31 cents a year
ago. facebook has been among the top stocks in recent years. shares are down almost 7% this year. shares could get a boost after today's report. analyst expect facebook to post revenue of 39% and income of 35%. and that would be in line with growth rates in recent quarters. other companies reporting earnings after the close today include alibaba ebay and papal. >> lauren: also the fed wrapping up its two-day meeting this afternoon. it is not expected to raise interest rates. it's been six weeks since the fed raised interest rates for the first time in about a decade. investors will be watching the statement to see what they have to say about the economy, china. normalization of rates would be a risk to the stock market. we also get on friday, this is important, the fourth quarter gdp numbers. the first read of that report. that's expect today slow dramatically. is the fed paying attention to
the slowdowns? >> nicole: something to pay attention to. wednesday morning forecast. fox meteorologist maria molina bringing it to us. good morning, maria. >> maria: hi, good morning, good to see you ladies. we're tracking cooler temperatures in the midwest and also in the northern plains. take a look at numbers this morning. in the teens in minneapolis. the air mass will continue to move east ward. we will be feeling the effects. high temperatures, only going to be in the 30's across the midwest and eventually getting cooler across the eastern u.s. as the air migrates east ward. we do have a cold front, but still producing showers across parts of the southern u.s. on the backside of the system across the great lakes, lake-enhanced snowfall, something to watch out for. in florida, very heavy rain in

we will wait to see what the assessment is of the economy, what it says now about the global story. global markets, oil prices right now on move. take a look at what oil is doing, we are seeing losses in london, francfort. down a half of percent in each of the major averages throughout europe this morning. mix moves in asia overnight. look at china there. down another half of a percent. you did have some money moving into japan. shanghai composite posted a decline, it had been down as much as 4% and japan was up 2 and three quarters percent as measured by the nikkei average. hang seng also higher. on oil three and a third percent this morning. oil is once again sharply low. 30.42 a barrel on crude oil.
