>> ainsley, heather, we had a transmission difficulty the last couple of minutes. they continue to spread out in tunisia as well because of the muslim film. the latest reports we are seeing is that they are beginning to die down. they happened near one of the main u.s. bases near that city. a lot of rock flowing a lot of cars being burned. this comes after violent froess in pakistan in the business capital of karachi. protestors breached a security barrier went right up to the main walls. the word we are getting from the consulate there is all u.s. people were safe there was casualties among protestors. new call from protests coming from hezbollah leader ordering his folks out on the streets today in beirut.
he said he waited for the pope to leave. the pope was in over the weekend. the u.s. is working only on emergency basis. staffers and family members have been evacuated over the weekend. this on orders of the state department. this following a deadly riot here near the u.s. embassy compound on friday. we saw that compound ransacked. they are here for a second week of trouble concerning trouble. >> gregg palkot. thanks. as the violent protests continue this morning and continue to spread the white house is sticking to its position the deadly attack on the consulate was not preplanned. this contradicts what we heard from libya's president.
steve centanni has more. >> was it a planned attack or not? here is susan rice. >> there is an investigation that has begun and will take some time to complete it. that will hill us can certainty what transpired. our best assessment based on the information we have at present is in fact this began as a spontaneous not a premedicated response to what had transpired in cairo. >> others clearly disagree based on the types of weapons used in the attacks that killed ambassador chris stevens in benghazi. they usually laun don't usually a military style assault. they see the attack differently than ambassador rice. >> the way the perpetrators
acted i think we -- they are choosing the specific date for this so-called demonstration, this leaves us with no doubt this was preplanned predetermined. >> the chairman of the house untell against committee made a final investigation at least not yet. they were only moderately confident about this there are huge gaps. >> they are hammering the foreign policy. especially the islamic extremism contributing to the current unrest. >> we will continue to monitor
this one. >> israel has all eyes on iran while muslim froess rageling on. >> benjamin netanyahu is talking about nukes. we are seeing a major difference on where iran's capables stand. listen to this. >> the issue is how to prevent iran from completing nuclear weapons program. they are moving very rapidly to completing the enrichment of the uranium they need to produce a nuclear bomb. they will be 90 percent there 6 months from now. it is a red line before iran this is a country that denies the holocaust promises to wipe out israel. it's like timothy mcveigh walking into a shop in oklahoma city and saying i would like to tend my garden i would like to buy fertilizer. how much do you want, i don't know, 20,000 pounds. we know they are working towards a weapon.
>> last week u.s. defense secretary leon pineda said aran's nuclear threat is not as eminent. quote it is roughly more than a year now little more than a year. we think we will have the opportunity once we know that we have made that decision to take action necessary to stop iran. more than the time line congressman allen west said the clear lack of defense with our allies is what israel so concerned. listen to what he says. >> this could be a jimmy carter moment for president obama especially when you go back and look at what he says. we have consist dentally showed a policy of appeasement we have not stood up and had a clear defined middle east policy. we emboldened our enemies and confused our allies. you saw the reaction from prime minister netanyahu. more on that later.

actionable intelligence. did america abandon its ambassador and a staff in the face of a known risk of attacks? let's go to tony schafer the fellow for advanced studies. good sighing you. >> good seeing you. >> 48-hours prior to the attacks in benghazi u.s. officials were alerted there was going to be some kind avenue tack. this runs in direct contradiction to what they were saying. >> i would go with the libyan government on this. there was a great scene a movie called jaws where richard dreyfus is looking at the body and trying to see if it was a shark that attacked. what is this? a boating accident. this wasn't a boating accident it was a shark attack. it was planned deliberate brat laid out purposely. what you see here going on is a bac backtracking by the add membershipstration who don't want to admit there was an
attack within 60 days of the election. >> why not admit it? we know they mate americans and hate what they stand for. why not admit it? >> that's the thing to do. they were already going in that direction. no actionable intelligence. that's code for we had intelligence we didn't act on it. therefore it is not actionable. the fort hood shooter they were careful and to this day it was workplace violence. >> way too careful. we know what happened in that situation. >> our men seemed like they were under gunned, under -- did not have the kind of weapons they needed. the weapons does that need to change not just our embassies but others as well. >> the new york times helped the enemy not to be detected. on top of that we choose not to do the necessary things to protect the ambassador at a time when we had a 9-11 anniversary.

over those walls. all staffers are reportedly safe again. more casualties among the pro tessers. then over to lobe nonthat worrying developiment that you mentioned call for protests coming from the shi'ite militant leader. he is telling supporters to go out on the street of beirut today and protest against the united states and against that film. he said he waited for the pope to leave. the pope was visiting lebanon over the weekend. back here in tunisia the u.s. embassy is only operating on an emergency basis today. most of the staffers there most of the family members were evacuated over the weekend. that followed orders from the evacuation of the state and followed a nasty protest around the us embassy compound. we saw the remains of that and saw a major tunisian security

assessment was in fact when this began was a spontaneous not pro medicated response to what had tran -- pre-meditated response to what happened in cairo. >> if the u.s. determines it was in fact something larger. protests elsewhere are spreading because of that video. at least 20 countries so far. it is time for a look at who is talking. the government are completely disagreeing over information that led up to the attacks. they killed four americans in libya. allen west is talking he is not happy at all with ambassador susan rice. >> when i rist ento do susan rice today several words came to mind, asinine, naive, inem president incompetent.
when you look at the government the intelligence service put out a letter about potential threats and up riceings about a week before that. it was printed in the jerusalem post on 9-11. having been in a combat zone several times after 9-11 we were on a higher state of security and alertness on 9-11. should have been the exact same thing here. for susan rice to say this was not a rel coordinated attack. i have to ask her what her line of expertise and understand what a stance as well. the president in libya confirms that. more on that every day as we continue to monitor the situation. overnight at least 7 people were killed by a homicide bomber in baghdad. the attacker crashed into a car near the heavily secured green
