submitted the filing to the alabama republican party offices in birmingham... after the former surgeon raised ten-thousand dollars for the filing fee. alabama will send a total of 50 delegates to the 20-16 republican national convention. of those, 47 will be decided by alabama voters at next year's primary. the remaining three are representatives of alabama on the republican national committee. for the first time in 22 years...an iowa dirt track racer is the reigning national champ of the modified division. and he's from right here in sioux city. deborah souverain met with the new champ today...she has more. allison driver chris abelson...compete s in the largest dirt race track association in the country. he goes against some of the best in the industry... and after a failed 20-14 attempt at the title...he's now a national champion. it's this engine that helped abelson...secure the national title...in the modified division. which is the largest division in the international motor contest association. abelson says knowing how to break out of a tight space...is the difference between winning and losing.
