partnering with the special olympics, donating nearly 11 thousand dollars in the past four fundraising campaigns.this past fundraiser was their nachos navidad fundraiser. participating locations included sioux city, north and south sioux city, lemars, sheldon, strom lake, spencer and cherokee. lukas: more than six million bottles of water are being sent to students hit by the flint michigan water crisis. the bottles donated by walmart, coke, pepsi and nestle will provide flint's 10- thousand students with clean water throughout 2016. flint gained national attention after their tap water was found to be contaminated with toxic levels of lead. state and federal officials have struggled to provide clean water for residents. lukas: three men accused of incredibly violent crimes -- on the run -- after a bold escape from a california jail. police say hossein nayeri -- jonathan shoe-- and bac tien duong broke out of a maximum security jail last week.

200-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the fugitives' capture. mary moloney has the story. "the alleged crimes are horrifying. murder -- attempted murder -- and torture. three inmates awaiting trial accused of those crimes -- on the run -- after escaping from jail. the orange county sheriff calls the escape sophisticated. he says the men cut through metal -- crawled in plumbing tunnels -- and cut steel. once on the roof -- the sheriff says the men used braided sheets -- and rappelled about four or five stories down the side of the maximum security jail. guards determined the men were gone more than 12 hours later. leading some to wonder if the fugitives had help. (lt. jeff hallock/orange county sheriff's department spokesman): " the sheriff is extremely troubled by the length of time it took to determine thhe three inmates, housed in a maximum security jail, were unaccounted for." jonathan tieu is charged with murder and attempted murder. investigators say he and fellow escapee bac tien duong are affiliated with vietnamese gangs -- all have pled not guilty. now police say the rap sheets of these three escaped inmates will only get longer -- if they aren't caught soon. " lukas: the u-s has taken another step to improve its relationship with cuba. the treasury department announced tuesday it is doing away with more of its restrictions on cuba. starting today, it will get rid of financing restrictions on most exports. the u-s will also allow more cuban commodities to be exported. and while americans still can only travel to cuba under 12- specific guidelines... they will now be allowed to do more while in the country. the changes come because of direct talks between the u-s and cuba... which began about a year ago. adults? and its consequences? can be devastating. now, in a report released today? the united states preventive services task force urges doctors to screen all adult patients for depression? and for the first time specifically notes that pregnant and postpartum women are included in this recommendation. the task force? draws on more recent evidence that the medications and counseling treatments used in depression may have a moderate level of benefit for these women? the same as their findings for the general public.

it's national chocolate cake day, and to celebrate we have a "good ol' chocolate cake" that is nothing short of spectacular. join us and don't forget the milk. with today being national chocolate cake day, we thought we'd share a recipe for a good old-fashioned chocolate cake that's so good and moist, it doesn't even need any frosting. you want to know the secret.let me show you. we begin by combining some water, a few squares of unsweetened baking chocolate and a stick of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. while that's doing its thing, we combine some sugar, a good amount of flour, baking soda, a pinch of salt, a couple of eggs, milk and .our secret ingredient, some white vinegar. we beat that until it's well combined and once it is, we add in the now melted chocolate mixture and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it thickens up. you see when the vinegar mixes with the baking soda it creates hundreds of tiny air bubbles that'll make our cake nice and moist. ok, into a 9 x 13 pan this goes and we'll bake it off for about half an hour. once it

producers are gathering in des moines this week for the 44th annual iowa pork congress. dennis morrice from klem radio of le mars j oins us again today for our weekly agriculture report. good morning, dennis. dennis: good morning, lukas. part of the iowa pork congress is the annual meeting where county pork producer pork congress is the annual meeting where county pork producer delegates meet to discuss and vote upon proposed resolutions and other issues important to the state's pork industry. the pork delegates discussed ten different resolutions that dealt with animal

trans pacific partnership free trade agreement, and about stewardship for stabilization. iowa pork producers association spokesman ron birkenholz says there were two submitted made for interesting discussion by the 130 delegates. (as said): " one, on the raccoon river watershed lawsuit resolution. another one on pork events being held in the city of des moines. there's one county that submitted a resolution that would like to see us not hold the iowa pork congress in des moines any longer, because of this lawsuit. and then we're pushing for foot-and-mouth disease response and recovery plan resolution too. so, we want that updated. it hasn't been updated since 2004". dennis: the iowa pork congress features a large indoor trade show, along with educational seminars, which begins today and continues through tomorrow. (as said): "we like to say there is something here for everyone. the seminars are a very big draw. we have eleven new seminars this year. of course the trade show is always full. we have almost 300 companies

police after stealing a car. according to authorities, 29 year old reginald galvin of south sioux city, is facing several charges including theft of a motor vehicle as well as interfering with a police k-9, after police say he tried to make a run for it. injuring a police dog is a serious misdemeanor in iowa. lukas: 10 years after two iowa men were murdered ..... iowa d-c-i and wapellow county officials say they've solved the case. police have arrested 28-year old christover yenger of ottumwa and 27 year old zachary dye of council bluffs. investigators say the two men intentionally started a house fire killing two men in march of 20-06 21 year old nathan messer and 22 year old seth anderson were killed in the fire suffering of smoke inhilation. authorities say information leaked weeks ago led to to the
