new hampshire, the pressure was on hillary clinton at last night's debate. she's been criticized for not having a cohe's av message compared to bernie sanders. at last night's debate, she came armed with one going after sanders for criticizing president obama. sanders fired back. take a listen. >> he's called him a disdisappointment. he wrote a forward for book that basically argued voters should have buyers' morse when it comes to president obama's leadership and legacy. >> madame secretary, that is a low blow. one of us ran against barack obama. i was not that candidate. >> the two candidates also sparred over wall street, foreign policy and crimil justice reform. that's going to be a topic they both zero in on in the coming days as they make their final push to minorities. kendis and reena. >> thank you so much. those controversial e-mails from

head to head, some sharp exchanges between hillary clinton and bernie sanders as they faced off in milwaukee, wisconsin. the democrats outlined their policy differences and p pyed didictly to minority voters. we're going to have a full report coming up. dozens of prison guards in georgia are in federal custody, busted in an fbi sting accused of taking bribes from inmates and drug dealers. helping them smuggle contraband everyone had uniform to knock police off their trail. >> in mexico a brawl between rival gangs turned deadly. at least 49 inmates are dead. relatives waited outside the prison as the names of the deceased were released. and a global selloff in stocks is show nothing signs of slowing down. tokyo's main average plunged more than 5% overnight following wall street's four straight losses dropping oil prices are weighing on the markets. those are some of our top stories on this friday, february 12th.

disagreeing with the president. sanders called it a low blow saying he's not the one who ran against obama in 2008. well the candidates had a bizarre exchange with sanders blasting clinton for praising henry kissinger. your voice, your vote. abc's maryalice parks has more from the debate in milwaukee. good morning. >> reporter: thanks, reena and kendis. after the last dem debate the clinton campaign says said that busy, busysyad failed the commander in chief test. tonight he went after one of hillary clinton's foreign policy mentors, henry kissinger. he said he was tied to violence in cambodia, failed deals in china, trade. hillary clinton in turn asked who advises the senator on foreign policy at all? there was this trading of jabs on foreign policy. we asked the sanders campaign manager here in the spin room who advised theheenator on foreign policy. the answer we got back was that they would get us a list soon.

the coldest of the air arriving later on tonight and heading into the weekend for the interstate 95 corridor cities from d.c. northbound to boston. along the front there could be a brief burst of snow, as well which could drop a quick inch or two. we are also concerned about some very, very heavy rain which will be impacting the northwest through sunday. potentially up to six inches. along with gusty winds. reena, kendis, back to you. >> thank you so much. federal investigate remembers launching another search for a ship that sank during a hurricane last november. the ntsb is organizing the second search for el faro in april and hope to locate t t freighter's data recorder, something that was not found in a previous search. the bodies of 33 crew members were never found after the ship disappeared during a category 4 hurricane. police arrested five people in connection with a deadly gas explosion that rocked a new york city neighborhood last year leveling three buildings. prosecutors say two people a

died because of greed. abc's ron claiborne has more. >> reporter: it began with a fiery explosion. flames engulfing three apartment buildings. and in just a few hours, all of it gone. two lives lost, dozens displaced. the building's owner, her son and two contractors were arrested and charged with manslaughter. accused of tampering with gas lines in their rush to rent apartments for up to $6,000 a month. >> when greed guides the decisions and respect for human life doesn't, this is the result. later, the two people who died are still remembered here at the site. illegally jury-rigged the gas lines twice. first, with dangerous flexible hoses, shown in this photo, to supply gas to the apartments above. and later, allegedly tapping tapping into the gas lines of the neighboring building and hiding it all from inspect persons they say the day of the deadly fire, the owner's son and the lead contractor went to investigate the odor of gas in

>> they smelled the gas and then they sprinted out of the building without alerting people in the restaurant. >> minutes later, the gas ignited. and the motive for alledly tampering with those gas lineses? prosecutors say the building had already failed one inspection and that the owner wanted to get those renters into the building as soon as possible and not wait months for the next inspection. all four of those suspects charged with manslaughter pleaded not guilty in courur ron claiborne, abc news, new york. southern california families forced from their homes because of a month's long gas leak are breathing a sigh of relief. a well leaking natural gas since october has been capped. at least temporarily. residents say that the fumes caused headaches, nausea, knows blooeds and other symptoms. the leak still needs a seal before its permanently bluged. >> a national wildlife refuge in oregoning will remain closed for weeks now that an armed standoff there is over.

occupied the refuge for 41 days surrendered peacefully yesterday. they were arrested and will make appearances in court today. their dispute was over federal control of public lands. >> the mayor of cleveland apologized to the family of tamir rice for billing the family for his final ambulance ride to the hospital. rice was fatally shot by cleveland police two years ago while playing with a pellet gun. this week his family was billed $500 for ambulance services. mayor frank jackson said that should never have happened. >> at no time did we intend to collect money on this type you have al. >> jackson said the bill had been automatically jeb rated and that the claim has been closed. rice's family has filed a federal lawsuit against cleveland's police and the officers involved in the incident. a better story from ohio. a father of two there has good samaritans to thank for saving his life. charlie cottrell knew he had a faulty exhaust system on his car
