officer early saturday morning. responding to a drug tip ... police were called to an urbandale hotel around o'clock in the morning... upon arrival ... three suspects began fighting with them. during the scuffle ... a man shot at the officers and an officer returned fire ... killing that man. the investigation includes multiple agencies ...including d-c-i and polk county. authorities say video will be important to the case sgsg gary lang, urbandale police department: "video evidence is a a y to any crimimand investigatatn and r officers have been wearing body cameras for quite some time." the name of the officer and the suspects are not being released at this time. two female suspects fled from the scene the fight and were arrested about half a mile from the hotel. lukas things were rockin' at the hard rock last night. "the big difference i think in stand ups and saturday night live is you know, you have to control the stage...you're the only person there, so it's all up to you. so you know you they say you have to have fun, you really have to have fun. well i'm very excited about tonight, i'm really looking forward to it . i like people are going to have a blast ," says kattan. we asked chris what his secect show preparations are and he jokingly told us that he has a unique bathing method and he eats a lot of toast. we'll have more on the comedian's show... on in the show. lukas received a welcomed gift at

music conservatory this weekend. lightly used instruments were donated to those wanting to play ... but unable to because of instrument rental fees. instruments of all kinds were donated including guitars, trumpets and clarinets. donations can be made year round... but... every valentine's day, the conservatory asks the community for more donations with the slogan - "have a heart for music"... "since people found out about the event, it's not just a one day only event it kind of continuously goes on and people can contact us and drop stuff off any time. um...we instruments donated it's a... some of them have been given away already you know. it's just kindndf an onging process here at the nservatory." this is the conservatory's fifth annual "have a heart for music" drive...the non-profit organization that encourages basic music education throughout the midwest. western iowa

the northwest regional the first tech challenge in robotics. students in the technology, engineering, and came together to compete against one another with their homede robots. twenty- competed...wjth robots having to kenetic tasks like picking up and placing keys into a bucket, climbing a ramp, and even switching levers...all for points that could be tallied up. the team with the points was declared the building the wasn't their only task. " it's not just about robots, it's also about team building and d mmunity service. the teams go infront of judges and have to present their plan, how they came up with their design, and using their engeneering notebook as evidence. and then they also talk about how they have served their community, it's not just about building the robot although that's the main focus. they still have to make sure they're serving their school and their community." it's a growing trend as several schools had multiple teams in the competition. this valentine's day was one they probably will never forget. and it's all thanks to a very generous classmate. reporter daniel woodruff has the story. experience to celebrate valentine's day and your wedding anniversary on the same day. one siouxland couple has been forunate enough to do just that for about half of a century abc9 news reporter bria bell has the story. "you know w u've got to give and take and it's not always going to be a smooth road," says heimsoth. jim and rita heimsoth have been married for 51 years. jim

back in 1964 and the two decided to tie the knot on the following valentine's day. "it was easy dates to remember, you know?" says heimsoth. rita's best friend in college was the first to notice that the couple would be inseperable. "and she said, you're going to marry that guy one day. and that is no joke," says rita heimsoth. and as you can agine a valentine's themed wedding included a specific color scheme... "oh yes, red velvet dresses for the bridesmaides and flower girl and i carried a white bible with a red rose ont. we kept it rednd really pretty and winter colors," says in iowa, blizzards are common during the month of february and not even an intense snowfall could stop the becoming the heimsoths. voters go to the polls on saturday, february 20th for the republican party primary.the democratic primary in the palmetto state will take place a week later... on saturday february 27th. lukas and things continue to heat up between donald trump and ted cruz. trump is now actually threatening to sue the texas senator. it's just one instance of thth latest bickering between the presidential candidates in south carolina. trump threatened lawsuit tweeting quote: "if clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads, i have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen." and of course...cruz fired back. lukas turning now to the democratic side of the race... the u-s state department has released 551 of hillary clinton's work-related e- mails from her time as secretary of state. the recently released one- thousand-112 pages brings the total number of pages released to over 45-thousand. most of the e- mails were upgraded to "confidential" -- the lowest classification level. the e ate department said none of the e- mails were marked "confidential" at the time they were sent. earlier this week a federal judge ordered clinton's remaining e-mails released by the end of the month. that's right before "super tuesday" -- when 11 states will hold a democratic primary or caucus. and the former secretary of state spent her sunday in las vegas nevada... stumping for support ahead of the next caucus. at her rally... clinton spoke out against the republican candidates... saying they are promoting divisiveness at the debates... "(hillary clinton/(d) prpridential candidide) "i've listened to the republicic debates. i have to tete you, i often n n't recognize, i don't recognize e

an important meeting will be held tommorow night addressing norfolk's expressway system here's susan risinger with the details.
