for the rest of your work week and into christmas day. thanks britley. today, family and friends will gather to remember the life of a waterloo teenager. a trapper found 18 year-old moe sed's body on december 6th in the cedar river near gilbertville. investigators used dental records to identify him. the waterl west junior went for a bike ride on october 22nd without a cell phone or his wallet. friends and family hadn't seen him since. teachers and students held multiple community searches near trails and lakes in hopes of finding sed alive. authorities are still trying to figure out how sed died. they say there were no signs of trauma. today would have been sed's 19th birthday. his family is holding a visitation this afternoon
church. his funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30, at the first baptist church of waterloo. if you'd like to help the family cover funeral costs, head to your nearest veridian credit union and donate to the moe sed benefit. a waterloo man is still at large this morning after a multi-county search around interstate 380. it started on saturday morning. officers were looking for a 32-year-old who they say is connected to a crime in hardin county. waterloo police tried to pull over the suspect's car off and drove down i- 380. the suspect eventually drove into a field and ran away near the la porte city exit. police do not believe he is armed and dangerous. pursuit. more than a thousand people packed into the veterans memorial building to hear what republican presidential frontrunner donald trump had to say on saturday. trump's campaign stop in cedar rapids was one of his first visits to
republican debate last tuesday. trump talked about immigration, isis, and his coverage in the media. to hear more about his visit, for a full recap. trump is still dominating his competition in national polls - capturing ababt one third of voter support. but in iowa, trump and texas senator ted cruz have nearly split the last 7 polls -- cruz leading in 4, trump the other 3. florida senator marco rubio has been edging into 3rd place in many recent iowa polls, with dr. ben carson just behind him. democratic presidential candidates faced off for their third debate in new hampshire last night. hillary clinton, senator bernie sanders, and former maryland governor- martin o' malley started by focusing on national security. but the conversation quickly changed to sanders' data breach scandal. some of his campaign staffers are accused of viewing clinton's
breach. " not only do i apologize to secretary clinton and i on an independent investigation from day one, i want to apologize to my supporters. this is not the type of campaign that we run, and if i find anybody else involved in " clinton accepted sanders apology, saying it's time to move on. each candidate took different stances on the use of guns in america. o'malley attacked the past policies and records of both sanders and clinton. we'll show you that exchange coming up in our next half hour, along with more debate highlights. president barrack obama is in hawaii this morning enjoying his two-week holiday vacation away from washington. president obama departed the mainland, just after landing in san bernardino, california. there, he and first lady michelle obama met with families of the victims of the mass shooting that happened there earlier this

he had to sit moments later with two fouls. iowa was able to get out and run peter jok playing in his hometown finishes. and nicholas baer replacing uthoff with steal and flush to give the hwkeyes their first lead. and then they started to heat up behind the arc. anthony clemons knicks one down from the corner for the 8 point lead. a big run by drake and a casey schlatter 3 gave the bulldogs a 28-26 lead. iowa answered
with another steal and slam from dom uhl. and they were even at 30 at the half. iowa got another good trey. and mike gassell takes it to the hole for 2 of his 17 baer with his best game as a hawkeye buries another triple. for an off the pine and blocked six shots. the hawks

that's the sound of disappointment! a theater full of star wars fans were in an uproar when the projector failed right in the middle of the film friday night. erik melendez posted this cell phone video of the moment on facebook. he says the projector stopped during "star wars: the force awakens" at a hollywood theater. it then restarted...bu t played 15 or 20 minutes ahead of where they left off. melendez says most people thought they were about to see the ending of the movie and missed important plot points. melendez says the arclight theater gave them a full refund and voucher to come back. may the force be with you! these are the words one happily married couple is living by! lizzie brado and her husband tied the knot with

presidential candidate we must never surrender our american values to racists.. must never surrender them to the fascists pleas of billionaires with big mouths.there's just one more democratic debate scheduled before any votes are cast in iowa. that debate is set for january 17th in south carolina. i'm melisa raney reporting. authorities have released the name of the software program one man used to steal prize money from the iowa hot lotto. investigators say eddie tipton installed a software program known as "rootkit," that would pick the winning numbers for a 16-point-5 million dollar hot lotto prize. at his trial in june, prosecutors showed video that reveals tipton entering a secure computer room
lottery association office in 2010. days later, he went to a nearby gas station to buy the winning ticket. a judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison in september. 64 graduates of the university of iowa's college of nursing stood on stage to receive their degrees saturday. this twice-a-year commencement ceremony will be getting bigger in the near future. college administrator s say the class sizes will be going up to 72 soon, to accommodate a rise in applicants. the college's executive associate dean says the goal is to get more qualified nurses into the field, as many are aging out here in iowa. "18:46-:00 "within the next 5 to 10 years, we'll have a huge exodus of nurses, and we have to replace all of them, plus the increasing need for nurses, the affordable care act has increased the need even more for nursing to be involved at all levels." with shoppers was closed for hours after a shooting. investigators say 1 person pulled out a handgun at the east towne mall, firing at least 1 round. a bullet hit a 19-year-old man in the leg, but the injury is not considered life threatening. first responders did take the man out of the mall on a stretcher. witnesses at the mall say they were shocked at what happened. "i shopping this time for christmas. i heard three shots. everybody running. it's scary, i'm scary to. because it's no safe now in the united states. the police come right away " "it was just like a little quick scuffle, little back words exchange and he pulled out a gun and shot the dude." " police cleared the mall for hours and are still searching for a suspect. shots also rang out inside a california hospital. this happened
the harbor u-c-l-a medical center in torrance. c-n-n reports a los angeles police officer shot and killed a man inside the hospital's emergency room. authorities say the 26- year-old suspect picked up a stool and reached for the officer's gun. officials say this happened as police tried to transport him to jail yesterday afternoon. after the shooting, the suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. police say the man was first transported the the e-r, after an altercation with two officers earlier in the day. flight headed to paris experienced an emergency landing in officials received reports of a suspicious device on board. the boeing 777 departed from east africa late saturday night with 473 people aboard. it requested permission to land in mombasa, after a passenger discovered the device in the restroom. the plane landed safely and all passengers were evacuated. as of now, officials say they haven't found any bomb
