"i would think that if she was

they'd save him and keep him in reserve for the general election but in the nomination period before the caucuses, it's getting tight and they see him as somebody who can really help to energize the base or at least that's the hope to bring him in to guarantee that she indeed does have a victory here in iowa." another reason for the importance on locking down iowa.a.ew hampshire is expected to favor sanders, given that he's from vermont and the other early state - south carolina is expected to back clinton by a thick margin. all showing why, on the democratic side, this push to win iowa is so critical. the former president is due here in 45 minutes... live in coralville, chris earl, kcrg-tv 9 news. clinton, sanders and martin o'malley will all have a chance to face off in a debate sunday night in south carolina. this is the last democratic debate before the iowa caucuses. yocan watch that on n-b-c startingngt eight.

trump has rented a des moines movie theater and bought tickets for iowans to see the film, "13 hours." the movie that opened today is showing at the cobblestone theater in des moines. it depicts the 2012 attacks on the u-s compound in benghazi that killed u-s ambassador chris stevens and three otherermericans . the benghazi attttck was one of the most notable incidents during hillary clinton's tenure as secretary of state. the movie's director, michael bay, insists there is no politic agenda in "13 hours." visits by presidential candidates are often taxing on eastern iowa police departments. police often have to call in extra officers who are paid overtime hours. some political events at the university of iowa even require the entire u-i police department to work. "it really depends on the person, the political activity around the person, so sometimes we might haveve full

and low prices cure low prices hopefully" dairy prices are down across the country which saves consumers, but costs farmers. soaring milk prices in 2014 caused many dairy farmers to increase the size of their herds. but now the milk supply is up and demand has not kept up, so prices for farmers have dropped. the u(s department of agriculture ays in 2014, farmers were getting as much as

cents for 100 pounds of milk. at the end of last year, that was down as low as 14 dollars 44 cents... a 43 per cent drop. kckc t-v nine's dave franzman says two eastern iowa dairy farmers hope to struggle through while hoping prices catch up. linn county dairy farmer bob kettelkamp and his twin brother bill milk their herd of 200 dairy cows twice a day. they resisted the urge to over expand when milk prices were so high back in 2014. others didn't. "we're just a typical family farm... been the same size for 15 years... we kind of end up riding the waves that are caused by others ." " dairy producers tell me the actual over production of milk is maybe 1-2%. but the price from the peak in 2014 has dropped 40 percent... that's one of the things they don't understand... a small difference in production... a big difference in price. " sot/nat some experts predict relief for

towards the end of 2016. but the money the kettelkamps are getting now from selling milk to the co-op is running less than the cost of production. iowa has lost dairy farms and farmers in p pt years and a big dip in prices could speed up that process. a u-s-d-a dairy report says milk prices, per gallon, are about 30 cents per gallon lower now than at the same time last year. cheese is down about 70 cents a pound. some shoppers, though, haven't noticed. "for them to have that much of a drop to the farmer... it hasn't come near to dropping that much in the grocery stcry yet. " producers say all they can really do is hold on until prices improve for them. dave franzman kcrg tv9 news. stay with your 24 hour news
