conditions during the evening tonight and morning tomorrow. a blizzard watch remains in effect for the nw part of the viewing area until monday. travel will become hazardous, so if you are looking to go out for the "big" game, make sure to head out early and use extreme c ction. thanks britley. police say an@armed suspect robbed money from a bakery in iowa city. authorities went to the acapulco mexican bakery around 5-15, yesterday ening. that's at 19-37 keokuk street. police say ththsuspect walked into the business and showed a handgun. that's when he demanded money, and ran away. police say witnesses described the suspect as a 5-8, heavy set hispanic or black man. and that he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, white shoes, and a white face mask.

if you have any information your asked to call l ime stoppers at 358-tips. the linn county sheriff's office is investigating a shooing on the northwest side of cedar rapids. deputies went to a domestic disturbance call at 14-14 sisley grove road northwest around 3-30, yesterday morning. there, authorities found one man with two serious gunshot wounds. ap an ambulance took the 44- year-old man to mercy hospital in ceded rapids, and rom there, to the university of iowa hospitals and clinics. detectives say they also detained and questioned a suspet. the sheriff's office has not released that person's name or the victims. fire crews responded to a house fire on the southwest side of cedar rapids. they arrived at the 700 block of 7th street southwest around 7-40 last night. police say firefighters rescued threrecats from the home. the fire started inside a bathroom. firefighters kept the flames in thatoom, but the house does have smoke and water damage throughout the

"resources unite" is trying to collect one-thousand cases of drinking water and d hygienic supplies to deliver to flint in early march, through a campaign called "just add water." it's a cause josh jasper, c-e-o of resources unite, feels strongly about. "every single person in the tri-state area to donate one case of water and we are talking two dollars for a case. we just want one ca of water per in addition to donations of drinking water, the group is formula to give to people in need. a significantly reced republican presidential field took the stage in new hampshire saturday night -- the political

a waterloo teenager has pleaded guilty to accidentally shooting and killing his older sister last spring. that's according to the waterloo- cedar falls courier. on may 15th last year, poli say a then 14-year- old diyrun coffer tragically shot 15-year- old jykeria coffer with a stolen handgun. in court on friday, the now 15-year-old struggled to plead guilty to his charges of involuntary manslaughter and trafficking stolen weapons. the shooting happened inside of coffer's home on broadway street. police say the gun he used was stolen earlier t tt day from a home on independence avenue. coffer told the judge someone gave him that gun. coffer is being treated as an adult for the weapons charge. the manslaughter charge is being handled in juvenile court. the trial of a tama county man, dustin jefferson, is currently underway for a third time. he's accused of helping to kill his wife, and faces charges of aiding and abetting

murder. last week, jefferson's trial moved to jasper county after attorneys said pre-trial media coverage wouldn't allow him a fair trial. the move also comes after jefferson's first t o trials ended in mistrials. he and his mother-in-law, ginger jefferson, are accused of killing kerry o'clair jefferson in september 20-13. prosecutors y ginger jefferson stabbed her daughter-in-law in the neck at her home after an argume. a jury convicted ginger jefferson of first degree murder in may 2014. she later rereeived a mandatory life prison sentence. an iowa city church working to stop construction of a new high-rise building in downtown iowa city is now letting the projeje move forward. last year, trinity episcopal church appealed a judge's decision to dismiss a lawsuit trying to stop construction of the chauncey tower. this week, the city council approved the settlement between the church and the tower's developers. yesterday, the church

as part of that agreemt, the copany chauncey l-l-c will make donations to trinity episcopal's outreach prograra- the shelter house - over the next three years. the 15-story building will go up on the corner of gilbert and college streets in iowa city. plans call for the tower to house dozens of apartments, a hotel, offices, a movie theatre, and a bowling alley. a night of dancing for the kids has paid off. record-breakingunds stole the show for the univivsity of iowa's annuaua dance marathon.n. this year's marathon raised more than 2 point 4 million dollars. as part of what's called the big event, more than 25- hundred people spent 24 hours dancing on t tir feet friday into saturday. the money raised last night will help families with children battling cancer at the university of iowa children's hohoital. " gift cards for the family to get take out food or a break from the hospital. anything from insurance co-pay. god forbid, any kind of funeral cost. "

setting 2 million dollars. the 21 previous marathons raised more than 16 and a hf million. iowa senator joni ernst made a stop in in eastern iowa, to empower young women in the corridor. she appeared at a 'share your voice' leadership conference at the coralville marriott. ernst and other iowa female leaders spoke the the girl scouts of eastern iowa and western illinois at the event. the girls engaged in group activities to learn about subjects like politics and how womenenre portrayeyein the media. "we find that from elementary school to high school girls actually lose self-esteem three and a half times more than boys and so events like this help girls build their self- esteem and become more confident which is really our end goal at the end of t t day. " they're encouraging not only me but other kids to go into the future and be who they wanna be, do things they wanna do, and not only just do what ty wanna do but chang the world with that. are condemning a recent rocket launch by rth korea. state-run north korean tv says the country successfully launched a satellite into orbit. the launch was apparently ordered by the nation's l lder, kim jon un. the u-n says the satellite violates resolutions against pyongyang's ballistic missile technology. the u-n has asked the country to halt all actions, but north korea claims they're launching more rockets. e u-s has confirmededhat the u-n will hold an emergency meeting this morning to discuss north korea. north korea was one of the topics discussed at last night's g-o-p presidential debate. only 7 presidential hopefuls took the stage in new hampshire. with the first-in-the nation primary there on tuesday,
