: "when i went on the street, i saw 20 to 25 bodies laying on the floor."police say gunmen armed with ak-47 style weapons -- stormed restaurants and opened fire. killing multiple people. : "we know that there are lots and lots of casualties."around the same time -- police say explosions rocked a stadium -- during an international soccer match. at least two blasts were heard. france's president -- watching the match -- had to be whisked to safety. while people inside the stadium scattered. french media also says several gunmen took dozens of people hostage in a concert hall. now -- with the country is crisis -- investigators are working to find the motivation for murder. : "it looks like terror attacks and it could be the worst ever in paris."as terror groups take to social media to celebrate the attacks. : "we are going to do whatever

it takes to work with the french people and with nations around the world to justice and to go after any terrorist networks that go after our people."i'm mary moloney reporting. a california band was performing at the concert hall that was attacked. investigpeople died there. paris police say four attackers were killed after stormed the theater... some they say were wearing explosive belts. it's unclear how many attackers took part in this plot. major cities in the u.s. increased security after the attacks but so far there are no credible terror threats against the u-s. a first responder who served during the september eleventh attacks at the pentagon was in des moines tonight. he says first responders in paris have a lot more to worry about than treating the wounded. chrsitoper suprun says the types of injuries first responders are dealing with in paris are more like battlefield wounds than the types of injuries they are

used to. suprun says, in situations like this, first responders are often overwhelmed by the volume of patients. then there is the fear that they will be targets too. "terrorist actions happening at the same time. bombs going off in other places. other terrorist events. so the question has to become, while you're responding, is it also going to affect us?" supron believes it's just a matter of time before terrorists strike on u-s soil again. he says emergency responders have to be properly trained to handle what he considers to be that inevitability. funeral services were held today for a des moines man who was shot outside of a nightclub. 20-year old dashawn smith was gunned down early sunday morning. he was the father of two young children. smith was at evolution night club when someone opened fired in a crowd. three other people were hurt... no arrests have been made. hundreds of people were at the nightclub... but few people are come forward with information. smith's family is asking for witnesses to come forward... 210205 - regardless if people dont come and speak or they do come and speak i

tomorrow night. you can watch it on c-b-s. more than 12-hundred des moines property owners might have to get flood insurance even if they've never had to before... city of des moines engineers say new fema maps are adding more than 700 properties to flood zones... the map also removes over 500 properties... experts say new technology has lead to better predictions about which homes are more at risk... homeowners near four mile creek who stayed dry during the 20-10 floods... could be among those who will have to pay for insurance. "it's putting me in a corner, either i invest and stay here and pay the extra money on a home not worth the extra money, not that i don't love my home but you trhow in a couple extra bucks and you can get many more square feet out of it." "it's effecting the value of the house, someone comes along and suddenly you have a house that's in a flood zone or flood prone area, who's going to want to buy that? flood insurance or not. the map change in des moines could happen as early as

des moines homeowners cleaning up after severe weather can get rid of tree debris tomorrow. public works says you can drop off items at the metro waste authority's compost center at 16-01 harriett street.... from seven until two. you can also drop-off next saturday too. you must show proof of residency. branches must be 10-feet or shorter and no more than 24-inches in diameter. you can also leave bundles of 4-foot branches at the curb with a compost it sticker. some dry, sunny weather is on tap for this weekend... after a wild ride two days ago... meteorologist brett mcintyre has

a des moines church is at odds with the city... over what it put on it's grounds. the kathedral.. along m-l-k.. in sherman hill.. was leasing land from the city... until recently.

the church used the land to put up more than a dozen flags and a globe sculpture. however, someone complained that the large sculpture wasn't safely bolted down. as a result the city terminated the lease and asked it to remove the globe and flags. but the church's pastor is hoping he and the city can find a compromise. 12:29 now the city has always been good to us. so in hopes that in us removing the globe we'll at here at this northwest part of sherman hill 12:41 city councilwoman christine hensley told us that the church needs to remove both the flags and globe because they violate the terms of the lease. the iconic hotel fort des moines is now closed for renovations. it is undergoing a 40-million-dollar makeover that will take more than a year to complete. "hawkeye hotels" bought the building early this year. it had told employees the project would begin in the spring... but just this week changed course. the hotel says a few issues caused the owners to move up the closing significantly.

of fully paid leave for new mothers... and a thousand-dollar amazon gift card. the seattle-based company will also give new dads eight weeks at full salary and adoptive parents eight weeks of paid leave. the new benefits will go into effect at the beginning of next year and all full-time workers will be eligible. parents who are expecting a child in the fourth quarter of this year can also take advantage of these new benefits. one of google's self-driving cars got pulled over this week. police say an officer noticed the small vehicle going twenty-four miles in a thirty-five mile-per-hour zone. it was apparently causing some traffic back-ups. the officer pulled up and noticed there was no one behind the wheel. and two people in the backseat. google cars typically have someone inside to take over if needed. there was no ticket issued. google caps the prototype vehicles' speeds at twenty-five miles an hour, for safety reasons. there's still much more to come

before killing hostages is now likely dead -- killed in a coalition drone airstrike in syria. officials are working to confirm his death, while weighing in on what that means for isis. emily schmidt has more from washington. mohammed emwazi made isis killings as public as they could be -- in plain english, on social media, with a name, "jihadi john" as menacing as his appearance was in hostage execution videos. it's only right we continue to slice the necks of your people. now, the pentagon believes, the british citizen- turned radicalized isis member is dead. tracked since wednesday by drones. he and another man were fired upon with missiles from those drones after he got into a car in raqqa, syria. this guy was a human animal and killing him probably made the world a better place.the pentagon says it will take time to confirm emwazi is dead, tracking social media for an announcement of his death, intercepted communications and

anything for us; it's too little too late. our son is never coming back.' indianapolis metro police now says it knows who killed the pregnant wife of a local minister, now they just need to find the suspects. police now have surveillance video of the suspects who allegedly killed amanda blackburn during a home invasion. detectives collected the video from surveillance cameras from homes in her neighborhood. investigators say they believe that burglars were leaving a home when they saw blackburn's husband leave for the gym, and decided to break into the home. the police chief sent this warning out to those who commit crime in indianapolis. : "we're coming to get you, it's not acceptable... no one should. and this is infecting every one of us in our community. and not just one homicide, all the homicides, we're coming to get you." blackburn's death was the 129th homicide in indianapolis this year. jerry sandusky might get his pennsylvania state pension reinstated,

the former penn state assistant football coach's pension was revoked three years ago he was found guilty of abusing ten boys. but a state court ruled today sandusky was not working at the school when the abuse he was convicted for happened. the court ordered that his pension be reinstated, including back pay and interest. sandusky collected 148-thousand dollars when he retired in 19-99... receiving payments of 49-hundred dollars a month. the supreme court says it will hear a challenge to key parts of texas' 2013 abortion law. one provision at issue requires doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. the law also mandates clinics to upgrade their facilities to hospital-like standards. supporters of the law argue it's meant to protect women's health... opponents say the measure is a disguised attempt to limit and eventually end abortions. the court's decision will likely come down sometime next spring or early

summer. online daily fantasy sports giants draft-kings and fan-duel are fighting back against new york state's attorney general. the two websites filed lawsuits against eric schneiderman today. they want the new york state supreme court to stop his efforts to ban daily fantasy sports sites from operating in new york. schneiderman ordered banned the sites in new york on tuesday, calling them a form of illegal gambling. new york protestors demanded the sites come back... calling daily fantasy a "game of skill" not a game of chance. experts say schneiderman's order
