today police charged the driver of an ames bus in the case... justin surrency spoke to cy-ride officials about the alleged driver behind the wheel... "the isu and ames community is grieving right along with the family right now."ever since the fatal hit and run december 14th along ashford and lincoln way cy ride officials in ames have been assisting police.... "whenever there is an incident in ames our buses are all over town and with cameras on them so the police department comes to us to see our video of the incident which is what they did that day."but they were blindsided wednesday when investigators used that video to arrest 23 year old cy ride driver benjamin clague... "for cyride this is a very difficult day, it's shaking us to the core right now." clague has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death a class d felony and failure to obey a traffic control

you can hear the bus striking emmalee and that's really what tipped the case for us 55kyras says visually it would have been difficult for clague to tell... "there wasn't any repair....visually we can't see anything on the outside of the vehicle from what happened that day." cyride officials say it wasn't a lack of experience behind the wheel... "he drove several routes for us and that was one of them...he's veen with us for two years, so he's familiar with the route structure."they are thankful their cameras may have helped solved the crime...but despite possible closure...many hearts will remain heavy "our heart goes out to her family and her friends ." despite no damage...the bus involved remains out of service at this time...benjamin clague has posted bail and his first court appearance is scheduled for wednesday january

marshall county deputies are still looking for a man they say led them on a high speed chase.. deputies were talking with 29-year old thomas sheets around three monday morning. they say after a short stand off, sheets took off in a camaro... deputies say during the pursuit, he lost control and slid off the road north-west of albion.... authorities searched more than three hours but did not find sheets. deputies say he was carrying a handgun... and is considered armed and dangerous. anyone with information on sheets should call police. ben carson suspended his campaign for a second day after one of his staffers was killed in a car crash in western iowa yesterday. 36-51 dr. ben carson/gop presidential candidate "braden joplin was an amazing young man. i had an opportunity to - to get to know him and the thing that impressed me the most was how compassionate he was." 25-year-old braden joplin died after a van carrying four carson campaign staff members lost
