good evening, thank you for joining usi'm oy howe. kan is off tonight. we'll get to that story in n momeme, but first, n n tonight at five - new video just released of a chicago police officer- involved shooting, that killed a black teenager. the deadly shooting actually hahaened in 2013, , t the surveillance video was just released this afternoon. officers say 17-year-old cedrick chatman was shot and killed as was running from officers who suspected him of stealing a car. the officers say while he was running, chatman turned and pointed a dark object at police, and one officer fibed, fearing for his life. the object turned out to be a black iphone box.thth chatman family's attorney calls it a "trophy kill" and say the officers went too far. "you have a 17-year-old kid that's shot and killed bleeding in the streets, handcuffed, , face down on the ground and for him to essentially step on him, it's

last year, video showing e shooting death of laquan mcdonald prompted protesters to call for mayor rahm emmanuel's resignation. the officer who shot mcdonald has been charged with murder. here at home - officers in several eastern iowa cities are trying to come up with ways to *stop gun violence. officials from ames to waterl to cedar rapids m today to collaborate, share intelligence and find soluluons to keep peoplelesafe. coming up tonight on the cbs 2 news ten at ten - what they talked about and how it could affect your neighborhood. an updatto a story we've been following since june. a waterloo woman has now been charged in the death of a *toddler at her in-home day care. 18-month-old brody harrelson was accidentally suffocated by a car seat strap while he was napping..police say nine other children were in the daycare at the time. 41-year-old amy hangartner is charged with child

a striri of car accidenen left a cedar rapids police officer injured. it started with a multi-vehicle crash on edgewood road near the airport. a crpd officer who was responding to the crashsh got t into an accident on the way. that officer was taken to the hospital, but should be ok. nobody else was injured. police say they think icy conditions and slick roads played a part in the accidedes. the good news is, some of that ice melted away today - but how long will the warmer temps last? let's check in with chief meteorologist terry swails swailswho is here to tell us when the ice returns. temperatures were warm today and are still warm near 40. temperatures will start to fall tonight though into the upper 20s and low 30s. it will be much cooler by morning with clouds sticking around through the night and tomorrow. steady temperatures throughout the day tomorrow.
