city council want to roll the dice on new interest in the land originally set aside for the other proposed casino we told you about. we first reported last week at least three council members are asking the city to look at other uses for the property. a development subcommittee is pushing city leaders to examine 1300 city owned properties for redevelopment potential. the newest addition to the cedar rapids skyline opened its doors. crst cut the ribbon on their new $37 millio it is 11 stories tall with 113,000 square feet of office space. crst will move into the fourth and fifth floors and save the sixth for future growth. board chairman john smith said they are excited to move into their new home and city leaders are sure glad to see the new development downtown. >> it feels great.

in but that has allowed temperatures to increase, close to 80 degrees and i was city. 72 in cedar rapids. 69 in waterloo and 73 in dubuque. we do have a lot of cloud cover out there but the rain has largely come to an end after last night's heavy rainfall. i'm sure that he heard through the night esses cold front has slowly been moving across the area. now the focus for showers and storms is going to be in parts of minnesota and down in missouri. we do have cloud cover to deal with throughout the rest of the day. and into parts of tonight. we could still have some areas of drizzle and light rain showers. for the most part we're starting to see some a drying out across the area. the winds have started to shift out of the north and west which is indicating the front has moved through parts of eastern iowa. where the winds are turned out of the south, the front has not quite made it. is starting to just move through cedar rapids. the winds are starting to move out of the west over there.

we've had a lot of heavy rainfall. we are ahead of for the month of september and last night we told anywhere from 1.5 inches upwards of 2.8 inches and hopping 10. a lot of heavy rainfall. effectively to ponding and concerns in some area rivers. near and north of highway 30 and all the way up to the border, we did have rainfall that total between one point 1.0 inches and 3.0 inches of rain. some areas of drizzle as i mentioned but largely clear on the radar. as we head through the rest of see cloud cover. now it looks like we are having a drying 10 -- trend into the weekend. the skies were clear as we head into saturday. we will see sunshine tomorrow and nice conditions as we head into the weekend, including lower humidity and nice weather. for friday night football is going to be muggy. a little warm.

we could have a few isolated showers in the area. rain chances have gone down. as i mentioned that is because of this cold front moving through. high pressure will build overhead for this weekend. out toward north and west, our next storm system is taking shape. by the end of this weekend dish that will impact us as we head into next week. for the game on saturday, we will have nice weather. clear skies. double. temperatures around 70 degrees to start the game around 11:00. then we will see changes after the weekend. we will have nice weather around for saturday and sunday. te night. by the time we hit monday, well, check it up.
