says she's a friend of allman. s.w.a.t. teams come for him julian talked to reporters. >> i knew he had a gun. i didn't know a collection of guns but i did know he had a gun. he would tell me he'd go to the range. i've never known him to be a violent man. >> allman's brown car found abandoned in a parking lot with driver's side door open. close by a long rifle discovered hidden under a liquor store dumpster. across the street investigators appeared to pull evidence from some thick bushes at the side of a home. location is just blocks from where a woman was shot this morning. in the attempted car jacking in the parking lot 6 an hp complex this man heard the gunfire ask sirens. >> we are doing thing was the economy the way it s koit happen anywhere. >> he wounded that victim. shot her and left the area on foot. >> did not get her car?

>> correct. >> extremely dangerous either still holding a hand gun or assault rifle. >> that is why hundreds of police officers went door to door in a quiet neighborhood. searching for any sign of allman. students at several schools were sent home with parents. and residents hold a shelter in place. >> i heard helicopters kind of started to see police activity. then started to get ready to leave for work and was told should stay put. >> and a lot of us are staying put this evening there is a live picture of homestead. the road is closed. no sign of the activity letting up any time soon. it's a wide spread effort and a fluid situation z one point we saw officers converging on a rest room in a park. guns drawn and looked in that

area and didn't find anything. we've seen them looking through a school area and an alarm was going on. it's a highly fluid situation. and there at this point no sign of the suspect himself. and in couper teen yes abc 7 news. >> abc 7's wayne freedman is live at the cement plant where panic family rushed to find out about their loved ones. >> there is about 200 yards way there was a police line now moved back. we're told the investigation continues inside this, is where the major formal briefings have been held with the press. earlier today the sheriff spoke with reporters and told us details including police have surveillance video of the suspect leaving the gas station. we asked if there was a message for the suspect. if he's watching. >> if i can say something to

him, we need to find him. please surrender. there are a lot of officers out there. we need you and we need you now. we need to make sure the public is safe. >> and how do you reason with a guy like this? >> i don't know that you do. we will take him into custody to protect safety. >> speaking of safety, this is video from earlier this moshing. same location now. and when someone workers escaping inside of the quarry met friends and family they did not have a lot to say but video speaks volumes. there are sighs of relief and tears of joy. no one can appreciate what happened except for them. there has been a lot of caution by police continuing to take no chances earlier this morning pulling over terrence broussard officers drew guns and detained him. here is how he described this experience. >> they handcuffed me about

relationship with people. >> several people couldn't figure out how their friend are turned into a killer james worked with allman in sunnyvale. they were both bouncers. waits side work from allman. >> something happened between the job and whatever else is going on to cause him to snap or have a breakdown. >> this afternoon several community leaders expressed shock and sadness about shareef allman a man they knew as a friend. >> we're hoping he was just turning himself n his children need him z community needs him. we're just hoping he'll do the right thing and just sort of end this horrible nightmare. >> in 2002 he started a nonprofit called helping hands changing hearts for at risk youth but according to tax forms the group raised no

money over the years. allman had his driver's license suspended in 90s convicted of misdemeanor forgery in 92 and spent a brief time in jail. >> and the question everyone who knew this man is asking tonight what happened to make with a appears to be a competent and compassionate man commit kmit this violent act? he lives in the stone gate apartment complex. neighbors talked to and spent time with him cannot imagine what happened. >> i don't know if it's job related. i don't know what this is about. that is the only thing i can think of. >> and have you ever met his daughter? >> yes. yes. she's a good girl and working. and i don't understand. >> and that is a sentiment a lot of people who knew him and know him are saying tonight. >> this has a lot of people talking online and on face

have been affected but urged customer who's can't get online to do banking in an atm or a local branch. college students have been worrying there won't be jobs when they graduate got uplifting news today. hiring of graduates expected to go up about 13% this upcoming year. a new survey shows salaries also rose by 6% this year. and they pull in about $51,000 per year. the biggest increases in computer sis yens and petroleum engineering. the rest of us received much lower raises this year and averaging less than 2%. >> and as forecast there is a good soaking in the bay area and sierra first real snowfall of the season. and there is nannette miranda live. how does it look? winter like, i see? >> yes.

snow there is is chain controls. you can see it's snowing heading into truckee. and we will show you a live picture now of what this looks like here in the bay area you'll see this is what is responsible for thunderstorms, there are sunny breaks out there. there is of course we're seeing small hail accompanying storms. there is rainfall totals over 24 hours an inch in santa rosa. afl hahn inch in san francisco. you can see half moon bay just over an inch. kentfield 1.7. you can see san jose about a third. and this is more than an inch of rain it was several hours last night when many of you were sleeping it and came down pretty hard. the frontal fast moving and we

saw gusty winds 30 40 miles per hour. and there is showers and thunderstorms possible tonight. scattered showers tomorrow we're looking at sunny we are are, -- sunnier weather. here is a look at satellite radar. interest tl is a cold front and a trauf developing behind that cold front. we'll see still potential for thunderstorms until the sun goes down. scattered showers out there. and still another wave we're watching and this will be moving through here tomorrow. so more showers in the mix for your thursday. there is a tonight a few showers and thundershowers will continue and then just tapering off a little bit. 5:00 in the morning showers begin to develop. and there is a lull. and they get the nature here it's sun clouds and showers through thursday afternoon. then things will start for
