city workers say they're insulted and firing back. >> when a high ranking city official calls workers totally useless... i don't believe that is in line with our community values. and has no place in san jose. >> and an afternoon news conference highlighted a january e mail from retirement director russell crosby who refered to what he calls a 10% of the work force that is totally useless. actually serves as a break on forward motion by the rest of the work force. union leaders say the comments overstep his administrative role. >> this contwhainz i believe misguided feelings about employees serious enough statements that i believe makes it impossible for him to continue as the director of retirement service autos the counsel member is out of town

matter, if there is a complaint, the union knows the process to follow to lodge a complaint. the president for the firefighters union indicated he will take action to replace the city manager file russell crosby from his job. >> and see how that plays out. thank you. not far from where he is standing you can see a live picture of an occupy san jose protestor taking a big risk tonight. you can see him live from sky 7. he's atop a 60-foot wall outside city hall. now, he appears just to be laying there. and sometimes he walks back and forth protesting arrests of others and says he's not coming down and abc 7 reports there are no plans to remove him. his name is sean o kelly.

the occupy sf encampment tomorrow, there at justin herman plaza and at the federal reserve on market street. he will be at the "w" hotel not far from a campaign fund-raiser. we don't know what they have in mind but medical marijuana supporters will be protesting a federal crack down on pot clubs. >> a group of oakland residents wants the mayor out. tonight they filed a notice of intent to recall the mayor. organizers say the mayor is a failure at fighting unemployment and keeping streets safe from crime. >> while on the council just about a year ago joined in laying off 80 police. she is just given them the lowest priority in what is the first function of any city government. public safety. >> the office saying the mayor is hiring 60 officers and working to implement a neighborhood safety program. organizers must gather signatures to qualify for the

ballot. >> san francisco mayor ed lee is defending his campaign from new accusations supporters are violating election laws. the mairl candidate urged the justice department to investigate actions by a group supporting lee's campaign stemming from this home video taken friday. it shows workers wearing ed lee for mayor shirts supposedly marking ballots for voters. he and six others want the california secretary of state to send election monitors immediately to san francisco to investigate irregularities. >> a review of the ballots which cast at the polling places near the pop up alliance for ed lee. >> mayor ed lee spoke to abc 7 just minutes ago and says he's disturbed by actions of independent groups supporting him and condemned any type of tampering with voters ballots. >> that is a sacred right to

just two lanes. as many as eight people injured in a high speed accident overnight in san francisco south of market neighborhood. according to police the driver of the white van ran a red light broadsiding a car packed with people. none wearing seat belts. one said to be paralyzed and others had serious injuries. both drivers were arrested for driving under the influence. police found a large quantity of cocaine in the van which may have been involved in a minor hit and run crash minutes earlier. >> the owners of some luxury condoes in san francisco have reach aid record settlement with the construction company that's built them and claim shoddy work wranship led to leaks, mold and other safety issues at the chelsea court on vanness avenue. today therk announced a $5.4 million settlement about $169,000 per condo. unit for unit believed to be

yum. he did nothing but sit on the couch, shaking and screaming out in pain. that is his life for at least two years. >> his weight dropped and he only weighed 30 pounds at age eight in may he had no quality of life before. we were watching him die. basically. he was very sick. >> they were frantic. doctors were alarmed. >> if we can't get this to stop and med inserious conditions are not working he's going to go into cardiac arrest. >> so in may he had brain surgery at ucsf. almost 100 miles from their home. it was a long recovery. the family wanted to be there during this critical time. commuting was impossible. >> they heard the ronald mcdonald house was full but say a room opened up. >> i'm thankful i had a place

to stay to have support every day coming to the hospital. >> we cooked dinner and it was awesome. accommodations were better than what they live in. >> normalcy is what they most long for. >> this direct jerz that includes chores like at home making beds or cleaning a play area. >> they have a caring group of volunteer staff and other families that is important. you're not alone. >> before we had brain surgery felt like a kid. now after i stepped up and taking care of them. >> the family was able to go on their first outing ever as a family after he recovered. they went to a san francisco giants game oo. without this
