abc7 news begins with breaking news. the breaking news is in vallejo. firefighters are keeping an eye out for hotspots. there was a fast-moving fire that gut add mobile home. >> the smoke just billows from the home near san marcus drive. firefighters were concerned the fire could spread to homes but they were able to bring it under control. a family of three was displaced. the red cross is helping them. no one was hurt. >> for the latest on this and breaking news, follow us on twitter@abc7newsbayarea. thanks for joining us. >> another top story developing news in walnut creek, police are investigating after a driver hit two pedestrians this morning.
>> it happened at oak road and wall knelt avenue with the cloths and shoes manning the accident spot. >> our reporter joins us from the scene. amy? >> oak grove still closed right now an officer still is still on scene. can you see the victim's belongings are still in the road. we have just listened who the victims are. two women would were hit were about 60 according to police. they say they are in critical condition. one of them has head injuries. we are told they were in crosswalk. authorities say at this point it appears the driver did not do anything obviously wrong is as speeding. or anything beyond not stopping for the women. a resident of walnut creek temperatures us this street can be dangerous. it could use an extra bit of caution. >> on the morning, a lost -- lot of kids are going to the high
school and people drive fast. several blind spot cross the creek bed and people do not always stop and yield for people. people get hit over here every now and then. stuff like that. >> we are told that the driver is 20-year-old woman and is at the police station right now being interviewed. at this point, officers say there is no indication of alcohol use or texting while driving or being on the phone. it just looks like she did not stop for the crosswalk. the investigation is still underway. >> thank you, we are tracking developing news in mali, west africa. 170 people including some americans were taken hostage this morning by terrorists at a hotel. that death toll is growing. all of the hostages are now free. abc news anchor joins us in the news with the latest. natasha? >> 18 are dead.
we are lending since members survived the bloody hostage crisis. the mali government said right now gunmen armed with ak-47s and grenades are still holed up in the hotel. most importantly, at this hour, all of the hostages are free. >> raw emotion is the last of 170 hostages are freed surviving an unimaginable nine hour ordeal. among the hostages at houston six united states citizens according to the united states africa command. we are lending how it unfolded. 7:00 a.m. almost time three attackers armed with guns and grenades smash a car with diplomatic license plates through hotel security barriers. they yell "god is great," and open fire in the lobby taking 170 people hostage at the radisson blu. among those at the hotel were three u.n. personnel and air france and turkish airline crew members all now safe. a security source said that some
