inside the bar when gunshotted echoed. >> after that a lot of police here. one guy on the floor. >> reporter: happened at 1:30 al. the victim lay bleeding. >> officers immediately responded to the area, and located courtney brown, suffering from three gunshot wounds to his back. >> reporter: 38-year-old courtney brown has just left the sports bar when he was confronted bay gunman in his 20s. brown died later at a hospital. the gunman rap from the scene. -- ran from the scene. >> all information indicates this was not a random event. >> police are investigating a motive and if brown knew his killer. >> it's pretty cozy. >> reporter: locals say homicide don't happen in walnut creek. >> spliced in such a safe area. nothing like this since i've been here ever happened. so just a little shocking. >> a block away. kind of scary. >> reporter: vince cruz manages the walnut creek yaw club and

says there's a busy crown on weekends. the city cracked down on late-night bars requiring many to stop serving by 17830 al- >> there is a police presence. >> reporter: managers at the bar have no comment. police say courtney brown leaves behind a daughter and a fiancee. in walnut creek, cornell bernard, abc7 news. >> the search is on for a killer in san jose following a stabbing this morning. police say they received a report of a disturbance just after midnight at bascom avenue and leon dry. the man had at least one stab wound. the police are looking for suspects and are investigating the motive the stabbing. also in san jose, police are asking for your help to fine a man who robbed two banks this month. they released this picture. the first robbery happened last fight at the chase bank on blossom hill road. the second was thursday afternoon at the wells fargo.

forgive and always forget. >> i like the fact he is humble about and it forgiving. >> brings the community together. >> you think you would have done that? >> possibly not. >> he has not reported the crime to police. part of the message urges the thief to get help if they stole the money to get high. abc7 news was at oakland's lake merritt where hundreds of people walked to raise money to help bay area women fighting breast cancer, carolyn tyler helped start friends of faith, honoring her friend and fellow tv journalist who died of breast cancer in 2003. >> she would go into the hospitals or her doctor's office and meet women who had few irresources than she did, that maybe barely could scrape enough money together to get a cab ride to the doctor's office. she wanted to do something about and it asked if we would be willing to form an organization to help underserved women.

the low cloud deck is ready to mo in. the wind dusting to over 25 miles-per-hour. 74 and 73, livermore and concord no, 80s today. and finally, from emeryville, you're looking kind of hazy out there due to a southwest wind and that will keep sunday on the hazy side. clouds making a comeback across the bay. the mild pattern continues. we'll have warmer temperatures briefly by the end over week. overnight lows mild, 60, san jose, so here's the plan for the next several hours. notice the fog in the north bay from marin to sonoma, across the bay. down along the peninsula, san jose, and then by tomorrow, the marine layer come pressing just a little built so we should see mostly sunny skies by 11:00. partly sunny conditions at the beach, and speaking of the beach, accept -- santa cruz,

nice and 72 for monday and by tuesday, still going to be nice along the coast, but we'll see some changes, more fall-like changes. 65, mild afternoon. half moon bay. partly sunny. same deal in san francisco, across the bay, cooler than, 70 in oakland should be 72. 82 in walnut creek, and inland still pleasant. 84 by the delta. so monday, limit evidence warmth, mid-80s here, and then on tuesday, below average, extra cloud cover, we'll see a trough that could produce showers in mountains and then by wednesday, slightly warmer on the back side of the system will boost temperatures by the end of the week. 79 in san jose, look at temperatures along the peninsula tomorrow, low to mid-70s. so comfortable, very little change. 65 san francisco, north bay, more mid-70s.
