another problem spot in the east bay, westbound 80 near 580, two left lanes are blocked here with a big rig accident and they are going to do a break at carlson, and chp will be doing a break, so right now not seeing any slow traffic on the sensors because it's early but we will follow this most of the morning and let you know. >> thank you, sue. developing news in the east bay, a police chase ends in gunfire. >> witnesses say they heard dozens of shots. the driver police were chasing was hit multiple times. we're live in martinez. jeanine? >> reporter: we're just off of 680 and pacheco boulevard and this is still a very active police investigation. they have cri up because this is the area where police shot the suspect and he's at a local hospital with serious injuries. the 20-year-old was chased and
got away days ago, and then police tracked him to an address on ellis road last night at 9:30, and he tried to escape again by ram into a patrol car and that's when officers opened fire. >> there were 30 shots off, not exaggerating, 30 shots. >> reporter: police say officers fired because they feared for their lives. he was taken to the hospital for treatment. a vallejo police officer was also treated and released from the hospital. this shoot something being investigated by the contra costa sheriff's office and district attorney's office and we asked if there was anybody here on scene that could talk to us so we are waiting to see if we could get more details.
abc7 news. crews were racing to get a connecter ramp re-open in time for the morning commute after it was closed all day yesterday due to a toxic spill. crews worked through the night to clean up 500 gallons of acid that leaked on a big rig. it did re-open around 2:00 this morning, and it had been closed 14.5 hours. it caused a lot of headaches for drivers yesterday. 300 gallons went into the dirt, and they will be working on that problem later today but none of it went into the water wells. planned parenthood is closing three locations in the area, in richmond, pi pittsburg. the clinics will close at the end of the month, and that will leave 20 planned parenthoods in
the northern california district. and then making a decision on whether the u.s. will remain part of the paris climate agreement. it appears he may opt to walk away from that deal. a friend of the president and ceo of news max media appeared on "gma" is morning to talk about another option. >> he should kick it over to the senate, and there should be a treaty discussion on it and modifications. if china is not implementing ours until 2030, why should we do it until 2025. >> and ivanka and her husband wants to stay in the deal. musk threatened to leave the president's advisory counsel if he backs out of the accord. and there's a special report on the president's decision, which

years ago say rodriguez should be held accountable. >> one of the people that survived the accident said they told the driver to slow down, and he did as he pleased. >> where do you have to go to speed like that and cause this kind of accident and take somebody's life. that's not fair. >> the hardest part is coming to terms that they will never see brianna or simon again. >> i just wish i could call her and say, hey, can i go over your house again? >> as for the others in the truck, some remain in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. after receiving a $1 million settlement, the woman at the center of the bay area sex scandal said she is ready to move on. she spoke with the media after oakland city council approved the settlement following a
scandal involving several of their former officers and five of them are facing criminal charges. >> i feel happy that i can close this chapter and move on with my life. >> she said she had great support from her family and plans to return to school with a goal of a career in working with animals. and a woman claims she was abducted in san jose last week, and deputies found her in oregon friday night and she later recanted the whole story, and the whole motivation behind the false report remains unclear. the warriors have waited a year for this diday, and will t cavs repeat or will the dubs get their revenge. amy is live at oracle.

story of a deer swimming in lake michigan. take a look. a man was taking photos of a chicago skyline when he spotted people trying to help the deer paddle ing in the water. the real heroes of the story are geese. apparently they came over to help by squawking at the deer and steered it in the right direction and it must have worked because the deer made it into the rock, and the video is more dramatic of this, and we will keep it on the photo here. and a video of tiger woods struggling to keep his balance. >> you can hear his speech is slurred as police were giving him a sobriety test. police found him passed out behind the wheel of his damaged
car. no alcohol was in his system. woods blames his condition on an unexpected reaction to prescription drugs. >> you are looking at vallejo firefighters freeing a driver trapped in her car. rescuers had to cut off the drive's side door to get that driver out. two other people were also taken to the hospital. no word yet on their conditions. on concord restaurant is closed because of a rat infestation. in the last two years the environmental department hit lin's with 15 major code violations and no word on when it will re-open. and then immigration hearing denied.

bill bray at 68 today. low 60s along the coast. and daily 60, 59. and then breezy if you are out and walking around. napa 79, and even calistoga at 80, the warm spot. 69 today in richmond, berkeley and oakland. 73 in union city and fremont and newark. 79 right now in cloud cover not as extensive tonight, and that means it's cooler, 50 to 55 degrees. look at the breezes, they take us close to average and below average, and then 60s at the coast monday and tuesday of next week. mid to upper 70s around the bay. and mid-80s to near 90 for the inland neighborhoods. we still have a fog advisory issued by the chp for limited visibility on the golden gate bridge. it's starting to lift a little

with the details. matt. >> reporter: immigration is a big issue here in the bay area and across california as state leaders are considering a sanctuary state law, and this issue, immigration, can be very personal as well. the public policy institute of california release add new survey and asked how worried are you somebody you know will be deported, and 47% said they don't worry much at all, and mostly latinos say they worry a lot. president and ceo of the public policy of the institute of california says the federal immigration enforcement, many think it will be neglect impacts on their local econom and fear that somebody they know will be deported. less than half of adults are in favor of a sanctuary state law. crews race to get a connecter ramp re-open in san

are there for questioning. new developments in the hazing scandal involving the napa high school football team. sources tell abc7 news the county school board overturned two more expulsions. and jk quarterback, torres, was the first to have his expulsion overturned two weeks ago. only two of the original nine are still expelled. the district attorney filed charges against six members in juvenile court and they are investigating 11 more. and then dub nation, the last of the final signs have gone up at oracle arena. this video provided by the warriors as they are ready to take on the cavs tonight. >> and then the same two teams will meet for the third straight year. amy hollyfield is live inside oracle arena and she has a

time to get drunk, and bar owners say it would significantly help their business. and then the business journal learned the feasibility of the plan has been delayed and won't be completed until the end of the summer. consultants hired did not give a reason for the delay, and they are looking at costs and partner options for building high speed network across the city and it's expected to cost $700 million. supporters are splitting off northern california. they are claiming northern counties are under represented in the state government. they said they only have six legislators whereas the rest of california has 114. >> we have no say in how our tax money is spent. we can't effect events for the simplest things in our lives. >> organizers want to form their own state and call it jefferson.
now if they can't get that to pass they want to force an overhaul of representation across california. a record number of high school students in the east bay are going on to college and are going on to college and that's thanks squallsh scholarships. >> more than $3 million was being given this year, and one girl turned to theater and she wrote a play about a girl whose dad is in prison, and last month it was performed in oakland and san francisco. >> i am not standing on my stage because my dad is in prison. i am here because i decided what to do with the situation. i decided not to be a victim. >> yeah, the scholarship program has an 80% graduation rate. that is four times the national average for students from low
