metro investigators are on scene s-u-v and pedestrian. this a live look near durango and starboard. the collision happened around 9:20 tonight. according to police... the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. durango is currently shut down in both directions... between edna and desert inn. fatal detail is on scene... that means the road will likely police say... the driver of the s- u-v showed no signs of imparment... and they do not believe speed /// ((mauricio marin)) > good evening...and thank you for joining us i'm mauricio marin. a stand off continues tonight between a militia lead by a member of the bundy family and federal officials. the fbi is monitoring the situation going on at a national wildlife refuge in oregon. the bundy family are nevada ranchers. they're known for being anti- government. in this latest showdown...they don't plan on leaving anytime soon. here's the very latest. refuge in oregon. saturday---an armed milita took over the headquarters building. ammon bundy...the sone of nevada rancher cliven bundy is among the dozens of people now occupying the area of federal property. you might recall---the bundy family along with supporters were involved in an armed confrontation with bureau of land management officals back in 20-14. the heated standoff was over unpaid grazing fees on federally owned land in southern nevada. (((ammon bundy/rancher: "now this refuge here is rightfully owned by the people and we intend to use it." )) ((mauricio marin)) saying they want the land and resources for ranching, logging and mining recreation. the group is also protesting a decision by a federal judge to resentence 73 year old dwight hammond and his 46-year- old son steven. the ranchers were convicted of arson 3 years ago and served time, but a judge ruled their sentences werent long enough. ((protester: its clearly double jeopardy. theyve already served their time.

)) ((mauricio marin)) the men claimed they set the fires to protect their property from wildfires. hours before invading the refuge, the militia and dozens of protesters held a rally to support the hammonds in burns. ((dwight hammond/rancher: "it's not about me. its about america. and, somehow weve got to get the wheels back on this wagon because they are flying off. )) ((mauricio marin)) bundys group has made themselves at home. they say they plan on staying at the refuge indefinitely. ((mauricio marin)) the hammond ranchers from oregon... convicted of arson could spend the next four years in prison. they're expected to turn themselves in tomorrow. in all of this...they say the bundy's don't speak for them./// ((mauricio marin)) > police arrest 2- suspects in connection to the deadly shooting outisde a 24- hour fitness. 27-year-old kyle staats and 19-year-old megan hippie face several charges including first degree murder and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon. the two are accused of killing 42-year- old neil brian gandler, of palo alto california. police say he was found shot in his vehicle in the early morning hours of decemeber

another shot at gun control. on thursday... the president will join c-n-n's anderson cooper for a one-hour, live town hall event on the issue. it's called "guns in america." mister obama will also answer questions from the audience. the white house hasn't had much luck on gun control over the past few years. previous calls for universal background checks were met with near complete opposition from republicans and mixed feelings from democrats. and this time... it no different. g-o-p presidential hopefuls are already on the attack. /// (( donald trump/(r) presidential candidate "so, he's going to sign another executive order having to do with the second amendment. having to do with guns. i will veto that. i will un-sign that so fast. so fast." sen. marco rubio/(r) presidential candidate "all these executive orders he's gonna come out with tomorrow that are going to undermine our second amendment rights, on my first day in office, they're gone." )) ((mauricio marin)) in a recent cnn poll a majority said they don't support stricter gun control laws or the president's handling of guns. but in a quinnipiac survey an overwhelming majority -89% - said they support requiring

with iran, giving iranian diplomats 48 hours to leave the kingdom. williams explains... it follows the storming of the saudi embassy in iran. saudi arabia's execution of a shiite cleric - nimr al-nimr ... has enflamed a centuries-old conflict between sunni and shiite muslims. saudi arabia severed diplomatic ties with shiite- dominated iran - after an irate mob ransacked the saudi arabian embassy in the iranian capital, tehran. 42 people were later arrested - though iran has now also named the street in honor of nimr al-nimr. the country's supreme leader - the ayatollah ali khamanei - said that saudi arabia will face divine revenge. saudi arabia is ruled by a sunni

nimr al-nimr demanded equality for shiites - and called for peaceful protests during the arab spring. he was shot and arrested in 2012 - and sentenced to death two years later for crimes including disobeying saudi arabia's rulers. the us says it's worried the execution of nimr al-nimr will exacerbate religious tensions. but jeff, saudi arabia is unrepentant, and says al-nimr - along with 46 other people it executed yesterday - was put to death in compliance with islamic law. cardinls were streaking, but they lost today --- we do know that the packers and vikings were playing for the nfc north title tonight in lambeau --- vikings adriene peterson doing the job here with this short touchdown run --- ap is the nfl's leading rusher this season --- he's 30 years old, pretty rare that somebody his age wins the rushing title. vikings lead by a touchdown --- final play of the game and aaron rogers is trying to do some magic, like he did against detroit this year. not gonna happen this time --- vikings win in lambeau 20-13. chargers at the broncos --- peyton manning on the sidelines for the start of the game --- he was placed on the active roster this week --- but first time he's been on the active roster --- and not starting the game --- san diego forces 5 turnovers in the first half --- brock osweiler gives this one up so --- the broncos --- put manning in the game in the 2nd half. --- he helps lead the broncos back --- score tied here with less than 5 minutes left ---

winner --- manning brings the broncos back with a 27-20 win over the los angeles chargers --- (should we just start calling them that now?) so --- with that win the broncos get the top seed in the afc, home field advantage and a first round bye --- the patriots --- lost at miami --- they also get a first round bye. in the wildcard games on saturday, the steelers are at the bengals and chiefs play at the texans. the nfc on the right side of the screen--- the panthers are the top seed with home field advantage and the cardinals will also get a first round bye. vikings with that win tonight get to stay home and play the seahawks while the packers go on the road against the redskins --- both of those games are sunday. so now that we have this all figured out --- local sports books are ready to get this post season started ---- its been a pretty unpredictable season ---- overall, a pretty good season for the sports books, but picking a winner in the playoffs, is not going to be

((its been a strange year for the nfl, we had so many teams that were undefeated a third of the way through the season and all these teams were really separating you look at some of the elite teams and they're really struggling down the stretch so i think its a wide open party for the super bowl, )) ((ron futrell)) they're gonna be talking about this ufc fight for a long time --- so why not take another look at it --- the welterweight championship between robbie lawler and carlos condit fought to the bitter end ---- round five was one of the best rounds ever. --- lawler is in the black trunks --- he's the champion. these guys spent nearly the entire fight standing up and pounding each other back and forth ----- it was rock em sock em robots throughout. i think everybody believed this would be a great fight because these two guys are in their prime ---- but nobody could've predicted that this fight would be as good as it was. it was also as close as fights can be.
