this airport shuttle driver has been waiting for a customer flying in from dallas for c-e-s that kicks off wednesday morning. ((patranya: "what do you think that person is going to be like when they get off the plane? patrick carmody/airport shuttle driver: "i don't know depends on how her day started.")) ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) a lot of passengers are ending their day here at mccarran hoping for better weather on their way out of las vegas.// ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) for now delays for arriving flights are still about 3 hours. no word on when things will go back to normal airport officials are still asking people to call ahead whether you are flying in or out of las vegas. paula? ((vanessa murphy)) sheldon cooper junior stands just feet from where his father of the same name was killed. instead of tears, he offers words of forgiveness for the drivers accused of hitting the 47 year old man while he was riding his motorcycle one week ago. motorcycle clubs, including tribe which cooper was part of. the father of four is one of the 125 people killed in 2015 on the roads metro police patrol. ((dave courvoisier)) > brand new at 11 -- in a surprise announcement, north korea says it has conducted a successful hydrogen bomb test. the supposed blast was discovered when the united states geological survey reported a 5.1 magnitude earthquake in south korea... 30 miles south of the site where north korea has conducted nuclear tests. the u-s can't confirm the test, but says it would violate u-n resolutions. the u-n security council has set an emergency meeting./// ((paula francis)) > details of president obama's executive orders on gun control were released yesterday.
charleston, south carolina, and that was denied jews in was denied jews in kansas city and that was denied muslims in chapel hill and sikhs in oak creek, they had rights too. the directives focus largely on the system of background checks-- including ---requiring all gun dealers-- even those who sell firearms at gun shows and on the internet-- to be licensed and conduct background checks; --improving the current system by hiring more investigators to make background checks more efficient and effective. --and increasing mental health treatment and reporting to the background check system. although the issue of stricter gun laws remains highly divisive, 92 percent of americans support background checks. but the president, in the wake of the sandy hook shootings, failed to get legislation through congress that would have expanded them.

lawmaker john culberson's subcommittee controls funding for the department of justice... and he threatened to cut the purse strings. texas senator and presidential candidate ted cruz released an ad warning "obama wants your guns" and florida senator marco rubio -- also running for president -- called the action unconstitution al. the republicans control congress and president obama's request for funding for new a-t-f agents seems unlikely unless he can win them over./// ((paula francis)) > the occupation of the wildlife refuge in oregon has now gone on for four days. the group of armed men and women who have taken over the building are being led by nevada rancher ammon bundy. bundy says they're standing up for local ranchers who were convicted of arson and reported to federal prison monday. the local sheriff has asked the group to leave peacefully. bundy says they'll leave if the community asks them to... but that he's following directions from god. county officials say there is a community meeting planned sometime this week./// ((dave courvoisier)) > the most compelling drama on tv right now
suspect in a new year's day killing. 29-year-old shawn glover is charged in the shooting death of a 44-year-old man inside a home near centennial and lamb. police say multiple people were inside the home at the time... they believe the shooting was the result of an argument./// ((dave courvoisier)) > netflix's documentary "making a murderer" is all the talk of the nation. in it, the film makers follow the murder trial of a wisconsin man... in which the evidence against him doesn't seem to add up. now, viewers are seeking justice on his behalf... but is there more to the documentary than you've seen?
petition is tapping into a national conversation. (nats) it's all due to this series - making a murderer -- launched last month, which tells the story of stephen avery. (nats netflix) he's the wisconsin man who served 18 years in prison for rape before being exonerated in 2003... (nats) only to find himself in prison again on a murder conviction in 2007. (nats netflix) since its debut, millions of viewers have spent hours binge-watching it and discussing the case in on-line chat rooms. many viewers concluded avery was framed by authorities who lied and planted evidence. ken kratz who prosecuted avery and is now receiving death threats says the series is misleading (kratz): steven avery is right where he needs to be. that's in prison for the rest of his natural life. avery's lawyer... dean strang... says ... though... tha the reaction to the series

((dave courvoisier)) > a judge is recommending that a federal lawsuit filed against the b- l-m... in the shooting death of a man at red rock... be dismissed. court records show that the attorney for tracy meadows, the mother of d'andre berghardt -- who was shot dead by a blm special agent and a ranger -- withdrew from the case. meadows then did not follow up on several hearings to say if she would defend herself or continue with the case.
the case be dismissed without prejudice and is giving meadows two weeks to respond. berghardt was shot with a taser four times on february 14-th of 2014 before he was shot. investigators said he had multiple drugs in his system and fought law enforcement officers with super human strength. the man's family maintained that the response was overzealous./// ((dave courvoisier)) > the runnin' rebels are looking to regroup on the road. golden boy will probably announce in the next day or so that canelo alvarez will fight this spring, and they've got a may 7th hold on the new arena. if i was forced to make a bet, i'd go the new arena in vegas on cinco de mayo weekend. ((chris maathuis)) it wasn't too many years ago and ronda rousey wouldn't fill a ballroom. she was amateur fighter working through the tuff-n-uff organization... then she burst onto the scene. according to forbes magazine, she was the 8th highest paid female athlete in 2015 earning 6.5 million. what's surprising is danica patrick hasn't won a thing was top 5 earns 13 million. the highest paid female in 2015 was maria sharapova, earning a whopping almost eye popping 29.7 million. the suits making decision on the college football final four are sticking to their guns and keeping the college semi's on new year's eve... might not be such a good idea. the ratings were way down and even at the sports books, they noticed a disturbing trend.
