((dave courvoisier)) vanessa murphy is live in lake las vegas... where the two lived since moving to town for celine's residency. vanessa? ((vanessa murphy)) we're hearing about celine dion and renee angelil's devotion to each other....and how the couple played a major role here in las vegas. celine dion of course known as an international icon - her husband renee - her manager and mentor... and celine dion's residency at caesar's palace helped set a
las vegas strip. take a look at what is on the marquee at caesar's palace tonight... we will miss you friend...from your caesars palace family... renee angelil was just 73 years old and passed away today at the family's home from throat cancer. we heard from the president of caesar's palace a short while ago. in a statement, he says in part: "it is impossible to overstate the impact ren and of course cline have had on the history of entertainment in las vegas and at caesars palace, with his audacious vision regarding her residency, now 13 years and counting. ren was truly an amazing human being, showman and businessman, and over these many years became a loved and cherished member of the caesars palace family." we also heard from senator harry reid...he released a statement which says in part: "in 2002, cline dion and her family took a risk on las vegas. for a star of her caliber to commit to an extended show contract like she did was
at the time it was seen as a risk but it has forever changed the las vegas entertainment " ((vanessa murphy)) celine dion's shows this weekend are cancelled. we have not learned about funeral arrangements yet. paula, as we are hearing from those who knew the couple, it sounds like renee angelil made a real impact in their lives. back to you. the most complained about projects... that's been going on for several years now. ((chris maathuis)) it wasn't just any basket. that would be too easy. it took ron 3 years of waiting, working and never complaining. as a teenager with austism, ron worked as team manager.. until this year. ryan fretz/coach; "we knew last year at the end of the year we were going to put ron on the roster this year, if we had to have 15 on the roster and make him 16, he'd been on the roster."
