this comes just two days after the company announced it will be closing stores worldwide. all of the customers we spoke are shocked and upset for a number of reasons. the walmart on craig and las vegas boulevard is located in a "food desert." this means, stores with healthy options in low-income neighborhoods. .. are scarce. the discount store is also near the nellis airforce base with many military families living in the area. the nearest walmart we could find is six miles away. customers we spoke to who don't have a car... say they will have a hard time getting to the nearest grocery store. they will have to rely on public transportation to get around. ((scott welshhons - walmart customer: we're on limited finances and everything else, i mean, it's hard to us to get around and do anything, that was the reason why we moved here. it's because we had everything here in this neighborhood. robert evans - walmart customer: i stocked up on everything. i got enough to last me for quite a while now if i want to go anywhere, i'm going to have

on the last day of business, the parking lot was packed. customers were seen walking out with bags and bags of merchandise. meanwhil, ieide the store, we're told it was a "madhouse." everything was on sale and shelves were clearing out. ((karen castro)) walmart will continue shutting down other stores across the nation through out the rest of the month. however, the company still plans to open nearly 200 new locations by 20-17. ((denise valdez)) karen, a lot of employees are losing their jobs. what will happen to them? ((karen castro)) walmart says it hopes to keep some employees on board and move them to other locations. others will be given 60 days of pay. j@j@ on average, it takes three hundred americans working for a solid year, to make as much money as one top ceo. it's called the wage gap. and the republicans will make it worse by lowering taxes for those at the top and letting corporations write their own rules. hillary clinton will work to close the wage gap. equal pay for women to raise incomes for families, a higher minimum wage, lower taxes for the middle class. she'll get the job done for us.

the pavement today in las vegas. the former h-p c-e-o spoke at town hall meeting at the siena community association. among the topics she tackled included the the nations economy and unemployment rate. she also described the current state of america as being at a pivotal and perilous point. (( carly fiorina (d) presidential candidate "if we don't do something different if we don't have a different kind of leadership in the oval office and a different kind of citizenship throughout our great nation then we will come to a place where we won't be able to take our country back and i'm not willing to sit down and let that happen")) ((dave courvoisier)) > this afternoon fiorina also spoke at a town hall in reno . tomorrow she'll be back in las vegas for coffee with carly at the peppermill on the strip. that's happening from 8 to 9 p-m./// ((denise valdez)) > tensions could flare up during tonight's democratic presidential debate. it's the last prime-time opportunity for frontrunner hillary clinton, bernie sanders, and martin o'malley to win over voters before the iowa caucus february first.

now --the national transportation safety board is pushing for stricter standards against drunk driving. ((dave courvoisier)) 8 news now's mauricio marin is live with the details. ((mauricio marin)) football fans just getting done watching the game are either celebrating a big win or dispappointed their team lost. at the same time---law enforcement's patrolling around the valley looking for drunk drivers. this week the national transportation safety board unveiled recommendation s to lower the legal blood alcohol concentration limit nationally from .08 to be cut almost in half to .05. arguing the change could save more lives on roads. locally--metro police are concentrating efforts to stop people from getting behind the wheel intoxicated. spreading the message to fans at this weekend's runnin' rebels game to plan ahead and designate a driver who isn't drinking. (( sgt. richard robinson/metro police: "if they are under some type of impairment even though they don't feel like i can walk the line per say they are going to be delayed on making those decisions and not see as much as

missing marines... after what authorities believe was a mid air helicopter crash in hawaii. since friday rescue crews have covered more than five thousand nautical miles searching for the 12 missing marines. the coast guard says the high surf is just one of the challenges crews are facing. there's also ocean currents which may have sent survivors or debris several miles from the
