here's what lieutenant dan mcgrath of metro homicide tells us: a report of gunshots at the adobe villa apartments came in around 7:30. a witness saw a hispanic male in his late teens, early 20s lying on the ground. police arrived a couple of minutes later... by that point, they were told the suspect took off.... as of the last update, the victim has not been identified...ther e was no family on the scene....it's unclear if he lives here....but he appears to be again, a hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s. situation involving armed protesters in oregon continues to evolve tonight. ((denise valdez)) late word that three more people have been arrested tonight... after they surrendered at a checkpoint near that federal wildlife refuge. meanwhile, let's get you up to speed... the bundy brothers, ammon and ryan, appeared in court today for a detention hearing along with other members of the self-styled militia. a u-s magistrate judge in portland said they are a danger to the community and with no ties to oregon... a flight risk. they were denied release until at least friday where they will argue for their release pending trial. ((dave courvoisier)) meanwhile, law enforcement officials continue to surround the wildlife refuge where the remaining members of the resistance have vowed to fight on. officers have blocked all roads in and out of the refuge center... and armed militia set up base. ammon bundy's attorney released a statement this evening...
remaining members to stand down and go home. ((denise valdez)) that hasn't happened yet and the already-tense community remains on edge: (( sheriff dave ward/harney county, or: "it's time for everybody in this illegal occupation to move on. there doesn't have to be bloodshed in our community." )) ((denise valdez)) there have been no reports of shots fired ... after last night's shootout resulted in the death of protester lavoy finicum./// ((dave courvoisier)) > finicum's death is hitting the man's family especially hard, according to rancher cliven bundy. finicum had a wife and children... and bundy called him a good father who was trying to protect the constitution. bundy spoke to reporters today at his bunkerville property. he got word of last night's deadly shootout through his daughter-in- law... who took a call from ammon bundy while he was in the back of a police car. ammon bundy claims that finicum had his hands up to surrender when officers shot him. the elder bundy sounded regretful today that the
((cliven bundy / rancher: "those people that was up there wasn't hurting one soul. they wasn't doing any damage. they was there only to teach. they was there to teach about constitutional rights, teach about state rights." )) ((dave courvoisier)) we asked bundy when he thinks this will end... he said probably never. we wanted to know if he thinks the members holed up at the wildlife refuge should give up... and he said this fight will be fought over and over if they leave today. while bundy was inviting of our camera crew to speak with him today... not everyone on his property shared those sentiments. anchor paul joncich and our photographer had to fall back to mesquite... after a woman who claimed to be a family member threatened to shoot them if they did not leave./// ((denise valdez)) > a woman stalked in the showers of her local gym by a naked man. police released this video of the suspect today... hoping someone can help identify him. north las vegas police say it happened inside the 24 hour fitness near craig and clayton street last month.
the unknown man exposed himself and committed lewd acts in front of a woman in the sauna area... before following her and watching her shower. even more frightening... this happened in the middle of the day -- around 11 a-m. we spoke to a counselor who explained the trauma this would cause to the victim: (( ron lawrence/communit y counseling center of southern nevada: "it's basically a form of sexual assault that occurs in an environment because it's something that's totally unexpected shocking and may serve as a trigger of fears that individual may have." )) ((denise valdez)) the suspect is described as possibly a hispanic or african- american man... about 45 years old and six feet tall. police believe he used someone else's membership card to access the gym -- that's why he's been difficult to identify. 24 hour fitness has not responded to requests for comment. if you recognize the suspect or have any information... you can remain anonymous when you call crime stoppers at the number on your screen./// ((dave courvoisier)) > republican presidential front runner donald trump facing backlash from his g-o-p rivals today...
