mexico city has been pope francis' hub since he arrived - from here he's taking daily trips around the country. earlier in the day, the holy father traveled by helicopter to ecatepec, one of mexico city's poorest and most violent suburbs. there he celebrated an outdoor mass before more than 300,000, the largest event on his six day historic visit. in his homily, the pope urged mexicans to build a society with equal opportunity for all. now, nevada's first choice for news, this is 8 newsnow, weekend edition ((sharie johnson)) > dozens of cars... trucks and semis collided today in a series of crashes along a stretch of highway in indiana. authorities believe between 40 and 50 vehicles were involved... on a 2-mile stretch of interstate 65. police are still investigating what led to the crash, but there was heavy snow in the area at the time. a number of injuries were reported, but state police say the most serious was a broken leg. /// ((sharie johnson)) > the freezing cold weather is also reaching into new york. take a look at this... a fountain in manhattan's bryant park is frozen solid. winds gusts this morning made it feel like 10 below in some parts... while others reported 19 below. mayor bill de blasio urged everyone to stay inside... and only go outside for short periods with a lot of layers.
