hit and killed while crossing the street. as you mentioned it happened around 11-last night. police say that's when a man started crossing the street and was hit by an on-coming car. officers say the man did cross while the light was green. metro police say this is the 2-death on our roadways in two days... and 63rd death in their jurisdiction this year: ((sgt. richard strader // metro police: historically, over the past few years, these next few mo we don't want to see that happen. let's make a change. but the only people who can make that change are you and me who are out here driving around, walking around, being parts of the motoring community on our roadways. so let's do what we can to make it safe out here. )) ((michael stevens)) >> police say the driver stayed here on scene... and did not appear to be under the influence. speed was also not a factor.

within the past month, seven animals have been attacked and killed by coyotes. they've been spotted in the palm gardens estates, near tropicana and boulder highway... and now residents want something done about it. last night, the nevada department of wildlife met with residents.. on the steps you can take to keep your animals safe. they advise to keep your trash locked away, secure the lids.. and keep your dogs and cats in yourho a massive overnight apartment fire in maryland left dozens hurt, including several firefighters. some of the injuries were the result of people having to jump out of their windows. children were also being dropped from windows to firefighters down below. others were able to get down work ladders from trucks in the neighborhood. some are still unaccounted for... the fire engulfed at least two or three buildings... and is now under contrl this morning. fortunately no one's injuries

((brian loftus)) metro police are looking for an alleged burglar.. who knocked off at least eight slot machines since may. police say the man targets convenience store slot machines.. in the northwest valley and in north las vegas. in several incidents, he's pried the front panel off machines using a crow bar. he then takes off with the cash in a dark colored four-door sedan -- possibly a toyota corolla -- which is m hub-cap. in other events, he's been seen driving a four-door sedan similar to a dodge intrepid. if you have ay information on his whereabouts, call crimestoppers. /// ((brian loftus)) and a woman accused of killing her baby shortly after it was born.. was indicted by a grand jury yesterday. 20- year- old veronica salazar faces charges for the death of her newborn. police say she hid her pregnancy... and gave birth to the child in a bathtub. salazar's mother told

police say this is their 2nd deadly crash in two days. the latest one happeend here around 11-last night. police say that's when a man started crossing the street while traffic was still moving. officers do believe he was close the crosswalk when he was hit and killed... but say the driver didn't see him. police are trying to warn everyone to be careful and follow the rules of the road: ((sgt. richard strader // metro police: you're going to give yourself a lot more chance to survive crossing a le cross at the intersection and if you push the light and wait for it to signal so you can cross. )) ((michael stevens)) >> police say the driver of the car was not under the influence... and speed was not a factor in the crash. metro police say this is their 63rd traffic related death in their jurisdiction this year. brian, kirsten?
