((michael stevens)) >> brian, michelle... there's a lot more questions than awnsers at this point... all we know right now is a child was at a friend's house... when the family's pitbull... ran outside and started attacking the child. police tell us the child was taken to sunrise hospital with life threatening injuries but later died. neighbors in the area say they didn't even know the family had a pitbull: ((cesar moreno // neighbor: i've never even seen a pitbull around here. never even heard. i'm from new york. i hear all those types of dogs and stuff you know, so i would nothing. )) ((michael stevens)) >> we're told a woman and her 9-year-old son lived with the pitbull. our sources also say the child who died was around the same age. police say the dog has been turned over to animal control. brian, michelle? ((michelle mortensen)) and in southern california... the massive blue cut wildfire continues to burn out of control near the cajon pass. ((brian loftus)) >> more than 1- thousand firefighters continued to battle it throughout the night.. but it's still just about 4 percent contained. so far, it's charred nearly 30- thousand acres since igniting on tuesday. to put it into perspective .. the fire is about the size of san francisco now. more than 80- thousand people have been evacuated.. tens of thousands of homes and no word on exactly how many have burned so far. flooding in louisiana has increased to 13 people. at least 70- thousand people are asking for federal disaster assistance. national guard helicopters will be dropping massive sandbags to protect downstream communities. the water continues to move ... while it has receded in some areas, like baton rouge./// ((michelle mortensen)) developing at least three police officers were killed and 170 people injured in a car bomb attack. we know more than a dozen are in serious condition. no one has claimed responsibility for the attack just yet.. however, the defense minister says the terror group, kurdistan workers' party was behind it. this attack comes just hours after a similar attack killed three people -- including 2 police officers-- in a different part of turkey./// thanks, sherry. now to demetria for a

swimmers jack conger and gunnar bentz are at an undisclosed location in brazil.. they were pulled off a plane on their way home late last night. ((michelle mortensen)) >> the two, along with fellow swimmer, jimmy feigen, are now stuck in the country.. as hena daniels reports, the athletes will be questioned by locl police about differences in their story about being robbed at gunpoint. u-s swimmers jack conger and gunnar bentz were taken off their u-s bound flight home...and instead briefly detained at the airport in rio by local authorities. their brazilian defense lawyer spoke with reporters saying: the athletes were
