((brian loftus)) >> and... south highland residents are blaming interior damage to their homes because of nearby construction. we'll take a look at how bad the damage is. ((kirsten joyce)) and i'm keristen joyce. as kids return to the classroom -- there is a chronic problem for one of the country's largest school districts... overcrowding. for ccsd -- overcrowded classrooms is a matter of

located near durango and blue diamond road. it should have 800 students. instead it has about 1,300. many of them inside 28 portable buildings -- that's more than any other school. ((ccsd supt. pat skorkowsky we know that a portable is not the ideal situation the goal is to get rid of every portable, we have new campuses at the elementary level that are springing up all over town, we have additions on some of our older schools where we don't have enough land to build a new school and rezone ((kirsten joyce)) >> this school and a handful of others will find relief in 2019. but there is no current plan to relieve the dozens of middle and high schools huddled into portables. ((brian loftus)) and yesterday was also the first day of class for local college students. u-n-l-v and the college of southern nevada both welcomed students. this was the largest freshman class ever for u-n-l-v... in fact... some students are having to temporarily live in hotel rooms because the dorms are over- capacity.///

((kirsten joyce)) the man accused of killing two nuns in mississippi will stay behind bars. last night, a judge ordered rodney sanders to be held without bond. it comes hours after sisters paula merrill and margaret were honored during a memorial service. after they were murdered inside their mississippi home over the weekend.
