at least for a little bit. we're talking about the loud blasting crews have been doing... as they level off the mountain to expand 'highland hills.' according to commissioner susan brager... blasting in the area is on hold. she plans to meet with all those involved this coming tuesday. earlier this week we told you about neighbors complaining the blasting was damaging their homes. we'll be following tuesday's meeting and update you on what they talked about./// ((denise valdez))

according to the clark county coroner's office--- 7 teens killed themselves in 2014.. that number jumped to 10 in all of 20-15. and so far this year... there have been 8 teen suicides 8 news now's mauricio marin spoke with the family of this latest tragedy. they're now on a mission to help make sure another young life is not taken too soon. ((stefanie kruger/mother: "by the time we realized that something was wrong she was already gone." )) ((mauricio marin)) stefanie kruger never thought she would have to bury her own child. life... jumping from a parking structure thursday morning. her mom says she was bullied. ((stefanie kruger/mother: "i would have moved her from that school if i had thought for one second she was that unhappy. i would have done anything for her.")) ((mauricio marin)) overwhelmed by the loss... maria's grandmother comforted her own daughter today. looking over pictures of the good times. ((elaine chabrow/grandma: "you're not supposed to out live your children." )) ((mauricio marin)) the family now wants to help prevent other teen suicides.

health district has found a second case of saint louis encephalitis. this case comes after the first since 2007 was confimed in clark county. the illness comes from infected mosquitoes.. and causes symptoms like fever, shaking, and paralysis. health officials are urging everyone to use insect repellant and wear protective clothing when outdoors in areas where mosquitoes are found./// ((dave courvoisier)) an uncertain future awaits students and faculty at i-t-t technical college. the school, with campuses in r has stopped enrolling new students and is facing sanctions that could put it out of business. ((paul joncich)) late today company reps got back to me with a brief statement saying simply: "we have not announced any closures." but industry experts say the for profit school that's been sued for charging outrageously high interest rates on student loans - is in a boat without a paddle, and sharks are circling. it's not a pretty picture for the 350 or so students in our

we visited the north las vegas campus - they had no comment on reports they may be closing. last month, the u.s. department of education handed down a series of sanctions against the company. requiring them to come up with 153-million dollars within 30 days to cover the cost of student refunds if the school shuts down. linda montgomery, president of the las vegas learning center says itt-tech's problems make the whole industry look bad. (( linda montgomery/the learning center:"i've seen organizations on a friday like today ...you know they roll the trucks us and when the students come ino not a paper clip in the place." )) ((paul joncich)) montgomery fears if itt-tech closes, the students, many of them veterans and single parents, will be left in a lurch with outstanding loans and without the certifications they need to get a good job. ((paul joncich)) but montgomery says if the school does close, there is a way students can have their loan balances discharged. but they're still delayed in their time-line to enter the work force and start making some

unlv was supposed to whip the tigers and they did rolling past jackson st those 63 points are the fourth most in school history... there were a ton of positives. devonte boyd had 4 catches for 135 yards and three scores. unlv actually scored 42 points by halftime... and that was the second most points the team has ever scored in the first 30 minutes. a lot of freshman played and looked good and when unlv looks in the mirror this week at least they will know some progress has certainly been made (( )) tony sanchez/coach; over all a good night, things we've got to get better at but

henderson gold medalist connor fields has a heart of gold. he posted this video visiting a 5th grade friend he made named charlie at green valley christian school charlie is recovering from brain cancer.
