last june, the state approved a plan to reorganize ccsd. months later, lawmakers began to figure out the "how". this april, a consultant came in to assist. then, several public town hall meetings followed. all that feedback created a plan that became law a few weeks ago. now sharie johnson explains the top priority and who the decision makers will be at schools: ((sharie johnson)) that's the biggest part of this reorganization. instead of ccsd's central shots... a school organziational team will be formed. it consists of a principal, student, community member, teachers and staff. but parents... represent 50% of this team's voting members.

where their learning is pivotal at this point )) ((sharie johnson)) she's excited about the power parents will have next school year over their children's education. and perhaps the most influential parent organization is nevada pta, with 18-thousand members. president david flat has been privy to closed door meetings with ccsd focusing all efforts right now... on training for the organizational team. ((david flat, nevada pta president whatever the pot of gold that they have that they're using, they'll have to figure out how to fudiciary responsibility of what to give it out ((sharie johnson)) this team at each school will develop it's budget and school performance plan, how to carry it out and assist in hiring a principal when there's a vacancy. ((denise valdez)) less than 24 hours after it went up... that statue of a naked donald trump is gone. it was first spotted downtown thursday morning... but folks downtown say it was taken away this morning. some are saying it was vandalized overnight... but it's not clear exactly what happened to it. the statue is the work of local artist joshua "ginger" monroe.. and called "the emperor has no clothes".///

a top destination for many overseas visitors. and korean air--one of the major airlines helping bring those travelers is celebrating 10 years of non-stop flights to las vegas. 8 news now's mauricio marin is live at mccarran international airport. he's got an exclusive look inside the jet that is helping bring more tourism dollars to the valley. mauricio? dollar. and when he went inside to complain .. he says the staff said they couldn't do anything until their manager was present. i immediatly called the state department of weights and department of weights and measures to go and check the pump. unfornately though when they got out there .. they couldn't recreate the problem. they did tell me what they would have done if they had. first they would have red tagged out-of-service. according nrs & nac 581 and 590, the gas station would them have 5 business days to fix the problem. however they would not have been fined as it is a mechanical problem . if they wouldn't have fixed the problem though ... they could have been fined. so what;s the take away for you... immediately when you see a problem at a pump ... call the department of agricultures consumer equitability number. it's on every pump .. just look for the seal... it looks like this.

the region. temps have stayed on the cool side with highs only in the 80's today thanks to all the cloud cover through the morning and afternoon. winds have been slightly breezy today and big winds in the forecast for thursday. ................................ ... ... temps have b 80's throughout the region and definitely below average for this time of year. mid 80's for the east part of the valley this afternoon and really not touching into the 90's this time around. we're supposed to be around 92 this time of year and it looks like we won't even reach that. not as warm for those areas on the west side of town where we're higher in elevation. 80's still but below average again and we stayed cool up in kyle canyon today

regional temps also stayed warm but below average as well. not expecting to reach into the 90's today, but there were some areas around the region that hit 90's especially in death valley. warm there and laughlin again as usual. cooler up in the great basin with temps also mild up in reno. colorado river stayed warm but still plenty of clouds around,. ................................ ... .................. looking at the radar the bulk of the rain stayed east and south which is why we only put a 30% chance for our region yesterday. some areas to the east actually picked up .04 to .20 of an inch .... ............................... ................... futurecast shows the rain chances ........... probably not likely happening here this evening as the rain stays east again this evening. then expect a lull in any rain chances until tomorrow we're the next system coming in off the coast will increase our chances again by afternoon and thursday a.m. the possiblity of isolated t'storms is also in the forecast for that time frame. ................................ ... ................ expected... there will be a lot of road closures downtown because of life is beautiful. and work on the spaghetti bowl won't help. crews will be demolishing a bridge next to the i-15 that's no longer in use...
