temperatures fall once the sun sets? ((tedd florendo)) now: clouds assocaited with hurricane paine have no enveloped the region. rain chances are not in the forecast for tonight, but we could start seeing some drops move in for southern zones overnight. temps stay warm today but we'll have a warm evening with the clouds around. winds stay light for through the week. tonight: clouds from paine will stick around through tonight and all of tomorrow. temps overnight due to cloud cover could keep us in the high 70's and close to 80 by morning. rain chances stay south of i-15 and maybe up to i-40 in az by early tomorrow.

((denise valdez)) for the fourth night in a row... protests are underway in tonight. last night... a curfew was put into place after midnight. tonight... that same curfew will go into effect at midnight eastern time. police fear this new video might cause more violence in the streets... it was taken by keith scott's wife... showing what led up to police shooting and killing him earlier this week: (("don't shoot him. don't shoot him. he has no weapon." keith! keith! keith! don't you do it!

you shoot him?" )) ((denise valdez)) >> this unexpected video comes after calls from protesters for police to release body cam footage of the shooting. charlotte police aren't releasing any evidence that could cause more violent protests./// ((denise valdez)) and in tulsa oklahoma... the family of a man who was shot and killed by an officer when his car stopped in the middle of the road... are getting a bit of closure. the officer who killed 40- year- arrested today... charged with first degree manslaughter. officer betty shelby has since been released on bond. shelby says when she saw crutcher walk to his car... she feared he was reaching for a weapon... but he was unarmed. if she is convicted... shelby could face between four years to life in prison./// ((paul joncich)) an early morning fire ripped through six local businesses... causing lots of damage. this happened at the "twin lakes plaza" shopping center near rancho and washington.

firefighters had a tough time putting out the flames because the roof was built on top of another roof.. so the fire was difficult to get to. and it spread quickly. las vegas fire and rescue is trying to determine the cause. the only good news out of all of this is no one was injured./// ((denise valdez)) we often hear complaints from parents about our public schools. ((paul joncich)) >> but under the new ccsd reorganization plan... parents make up 50 percent of the voting members. sharie johnson shows us the make up of what will be called tho paul, denise. starting next august, ccsd's central administration loses power. the organizational team will gain their authority. it will be the principal, a student, community member, teachers and staff... but mostly parents. so the big question is -- how will they be selected?

((rebecca reed-shenk, ccsd parent in the workforce everyone's using it, if their not using it in school how are they gonna be ready for it outside of school )) ((sharie johnson)) each school organizational team will develop the budget and school performance plan. and here's how everyone will be chosen. parents will be selected through a voting process established by the school's parent association. if one doesn't exist, the principal will lead it. teachers and staff will be chosen by their respective associations-- votes for the student. as for parents, the voting process at many schools will be done by nevada's pta. david flat is president. settlement with "trump hotel collection"... after data security breaches last year. the company has agreed to pay 50- thousand dollars... and shore up its data security after more than 70- thousand credit card numbers and other personal data was stolen. trump international right here in las vegas was one of the hotels effected. the company says safeguarding customer data is a top priority./// ((denise valdez)) that didn't last long! the naked trump statue that popped in is already gone this morning... the statue was knocked over... and someone had put graffiti on it. folks we talked with downtown tell us the entire thing was taken away shortly after. it was the work of local artist joshua "ginger" monroe. these statues have been popping up in cities across the country over the past couple of months./// ((paul joncich)) a judge presiding over the standoff trial in oregon... had to warn ammon bundy's lawyer that he's at risk of being held

trying to bring up the shooting death of robert "lavoy" finicum... which happened when bundy and several others were arrested. that ended the takeover of the national wildlife refuge in oregon earlier this year. the judge has repeatedly said this trial is about whether bundy and his co-defendants engaged in a conspiracy during last winter's armed occupation of the refuge... and not about finicum's death./// ((paul joncich)) it's been five years since a deadly brawl between two rival gangs at a northern nevada motorcycle festival. ernesto gonzalez ended up being coni during a shootout on the floor of a sparks casino. gonzalez appealed the conviction... and he's now waiting for a re-trial which is set to begin next august./// ((denise valdez)) a look into the life of a first- class traveler... as korean air celebrates a decade in las vegas. we take you into the first class cabin to see what it's like to fly across the world in luxury... and the tourism boost flights like these bring to las vegas./// news music voice over: "you're watching the valley's news

((paul joncich)) a las vegas man was arrested... after forcing an emergency landing on a flight from texas. federal prosecutors say 24- year- old jerry ba nguyen was talking about suicide... and started banging and kicking before other passengers restrained him. this happened on an american airlines flight that took off from ontario california... and was supposed to land in dallas. they eneded up making an emergency landing in lubbock, texas... so police could arrest the las vegas man. if he's convicted... he could face up to 20 years in prison./// ((denise valdez)) it's no secret las vegas is a top destination spot for many travelers. but a partnership marking 10 years between mccarran international and korean airlines is working to make the

mainly staying east of the region. temps have stayed on the cool side with highs only in the 80's today thanks to all the cloud cover through the morning and afrn slightly breezy today and big winds in the forecast for thursday. ................................ ... ... temps have been mostly in the 80's throughout the region and definitely below average for this time of year. mid 80's for the east part of the valley this

around. we're supposed to be around 92 this time of year and it looks like we won't even reach that. not as warm for those areas on the west side of town where we're higher in elevation. 80's still but below average again and we stayed cool up in kyle canyon today ................................ ... ................ regional temps also stayed warm not expecting to reach into the 90's today, but there were some areas around the region that hit 90's especially in death valley. warm there and laughlin again as usual. cooler up in the great basin with temps also mild up in reno. colorado river stayed warm but still plenty of clouds around,. ................................ ... .................. looking at the radar the bulk of the rain stayed east and south which is why we only put a 30% chance for our region yesterday. some areas to the east actually picked up .04 to .20 of an inch near kingman earlier today.
