investigations shows she was shot at least once in the head. her body is still where it was found... on the sidewalk along quartz lane....close to view dr. >> investigators are still on scene collecting evidence...and based off what they've found...along with witness interviews...they believe multiple gunshots were fired in the area ...before 1 this morning. a resident in this neighborhood reportedly found this young woman. at least four witnesses have come forward....they say after they heard gunshots...a gray four door was seen leaving this neighborhood. (( lt. dan mcgrath/metro homicide: "to have a young female just basically shot and mp unusual." )) ((nia wong)) >> lt. dan mcgrath says this is the 140th homicide in metro's jurisdiction this year. he doesn't believe this shooting to be a random act. it's still early in their investigation...b ut he believes this could be a case of domestic violence....this young woman most likely knew her attacker. ((brian loftus)) >> 8 news now reporter michael stevens is live along the spaghetti bowl with more on what's being dubbed "carnado." good morning, michael? ((michael stevens)) >> brian, kirsten... the spaghetti bowl ramp closures will go into effect starting at 10-o'clock tonight... and they'll be closed until february. the i-15 south and northbound down... along with the 15 north and southbound ramps to m-l-k boulevard as well at the 95 northbound ramp. n-dot says the 1-hundred and 20 day ramp closures are needed to get rid of a 22-year-old bridge over m-l-k. just for some perspective on how big this bridge is... n-dot says the length is about the size of one and a half football fields...

resources. we don't want children to go without ((kirsten joyce)) the answer came quickly, sophie ladd teaches childrens language at unlv's college of education the mission of the zieter literacy development center is to serve diverse learners here in southern nevada.. sophie ladd weekly we have students who come here with the ir families for tutoring, provided by our pre service teachers ans our instrcutors help with that ((kirsten joyce)) and nationally as well.. one of her colleagues reached out to the lousiana school district and starteaeffort, called "books for bat rouge" to replace destroyed classroom libraries in low-income areas. sophie ladd we've collected close to 1000 so far, but if you divide that by 15 schools that's not very many ((kirsten joyce)) there are just a few days remaining to donate your books at the "zieter literacy development center" .. sophie says monetary donations will also be put to good use. sophie ladd those particular funds will be given to the teachers where they can self select some of their literature, being able buy back some personal .destroyed.. is really impotant piece as well.. ((kirsten joyce)) >> starting tonight... major closures will be taking place. 8 news now reporter michael stevens is live near m-l-k and bonanza with the changes coming to your commute. good morning, michael? ((michael stevens)) >> brian, kirsten... n-dot is dubbing its latest set of closures as "carnado." closures that'll go into effect starting tonight at 10-o'clock. and they'll be closed until february. the i-15 south and northbound ramps to the 95 north will shut down... along with the 15 north and southbound ramps to m-l-k as well at the 95 northbound ramp. n-dot says the ramp closures need to happen to get rid of a 22-year-old bridge. the work is part of project neon a nearly $1 billion 3.7-mile-long widening of interstate 15 from the 95 to sahara.
