a man police believe may have been responsible for a series of robberies was shot dead by an armed citizen inside

and what they call an alarming smell from an asphalt plant and gravel pit near their homes. ((kirsten joyce)) >> and now the company is working to get county permission to create a bigger silo for more work in the area. maricio marin spoke with residents who residents say the site is already creating an air quality nightmare.

(( susan brager/clark county commissioner: "they are asking to be expanded. they are already on the other side of the street they just are asking to expand some of the things they've already been doing and would continue to do.")) ((mauricio marin)) the biggest part of the expansion that worries neighbors is an 87 foot structure of silos and conveyors. williamson says he calls the county air quality department when the dust becomes too much for him....but it can take some time for authorities to check out the problem. ((kirsten joyce)) a sad day for the music world.... canadian singer- songwriter leonard cohen died at the age of 82. cohen wrote a number of popular song including the often-covered "hallelujah." his 14-th studio album "you want it darker" was just released last month. besides songs, cohen also wrote the cause of death is still unknown. ((kirsten joyce)) the air force is sending a fighter jet to fly over the veterans day parade route in downtown las vegas... for the first time since 2012. the jet of choice is the nation's newest stealth joint strike fighter, from nellis air force base. the f-35 is expected to roar over fourth street in downtown las vegas at 10:11 this morning. that's when more than 120 floats, bands, color guards and military vehicles will roll north of charleston boulevard between hoover and stewart avenues. the major closu between charleston blvd. and ogden ave./// ((brian loftus)) in downtown las vegas... the mob museum is planning on letting locals in for free next week. mark your calendars... because on tuesday you won't have to pay a dime to visit the museum. it's in honor of 'kefauver day'... which is the anniversary of the kefauver committee hearing which took place in the mob museum building on that day in 1950. the outcome of those hearings
