hundreds of cuban-americans in miami florida have been filling the streets rejoicing for the potential of a future freedom. back in 1959 castro led a group of revolutionaries to overthrow a dictator and promised democracy. instead he put a communist government in place at the height of cold war. for nearly six decades, castro managed to antagonoze the u-s... polarize global opinion and sent many cubans into exile. and because of his death... cuban-americans are now rejoicing: going to change in cuba. and also we are in happiness because we are also celebrating all those people who gave their lives.)) ((it's sad to celebrate the death of a person but you know he was so destructive in his path you know. it's a relief.. it's sad to say but that's how we feel.)) ((demetria obilor))

((mauricio marin)) >> emotions are running high today for many cuban americans in the las vegas valley. they knew that fidel castro would have to go some day but quite take the news. and today---many are hopeful for change. >> at florida cafe cuban bar and grill---the conversation around the table for many people centered around fidel castro's passing. there's alot of questions that remain. while his brother raul castro who has been in power since 2008 remain with the same social ideologies. however we know there's been change---with the u-s announcing a new course in relations with the island just 90 miles from the u-s. pedro hernandez who left cuba when he was 12 years old says he

10am. ((demetria obilor)) police have arrested a woman in connection to a deadly shooting they say this woman... 24-year-old porchay banks... dragged a man out of an aparment in the 21-hundred block of sunrise near eastern and fremont... after he had been shot several times.

that man is still on the loose. police tell us the shooter has known gang affiliations but they haven't said if it led to this incident. as for banks... she's behind bars and faces a charge of accessory to murder./// ((demetria obilor)) meanwhile... nye county sheriff deputies are on the hunt for this man. they say jack freeland allen shot another man in the foot at vince neil's tatuado wild side tavern early this morning. police tell us allen got away in a red chevy dually pick up truck. his whereabouts you're asked to call the nye county sheriff's office at the number located on your screen./// ((demetria obilor)) a house fire led to two car fires early this morning. clark county fire department tells us nearly 43 firefighters were called out to battle the blaze. it happened in the 2000 block of spiers avenue near spencer and saint rose parkway. fire officials say two people were able to escape--- and firefighters were able to rescue their dog who was unharmed. at this time the cause and

((demetria obilor)) small business saturday continues as a growing movement nationwide... it's a shopping day dedicated to supporting small, local stores. reporter brittany edney joins us now live from the container park. brittany, how's it looking out there? ((brittany edney)) we're seeing a steady flow of shoppers--- and stores here, this really is a collection of small businesses-- the type of places where you walk in and the owner is in the store, helping customers. this is the second time downtown container park is participating in small business saturday and as of 4-p-m.. more than 36-hundred people have visited the outdoor stores. last year... a little more than 58-hundred

nearly 40 small businesses fill this shopping center and you'll find everything from accessories and apparel... homegoods.. restaurants and bars..even a wedding chapel.
