after 7 last night in wayne county, nebraska... in a rural area between pender and concord. it was heading to the wayne airport after being diverted from landing at the sioux gateway airport because of poor weather. the wreckage was found in a field a mile from nebraska highway 16... annd about 11 milelesoutheasas of wayne. the pilot of the single- engine cessna 17 was pronounced dead at the scene. the pilot's name has not yet been released. 3 3 there's a major change at the top of the woodbury county board of supervisors.at the board's first meeting this year... the members chose 2nd- year republican supervisor jeremy taylor to be its 2016 chairman. taylor was the board's vice- chair in 2015... ananreplaces mocrat mark monson, who decided not to seek a second year. the vote was 3-2 in favor of taylor... with democrats jackie smith and larry clausen in opposition. 2nd- year republican supervisor matthew ung replaces taylor as vice- chair. 3 3 sioux city's mayor is

again.bob scott was re-elected in november after running un-opposed for a second four- year term. he renewed his oath of office this morning at city hall... along with second term council member rhonda capron. mayor scott says he has big plans for the city during the next four years. 3 "continue the trails. i want to continue taking a look at the whole river front and seeing what we can do there. i think that is wha will attract business to thths comunity. obviously y whole career haha been working on economic develpoment and i'm going to continue doing that."that work began this afternoon... when the council gathered for their first meeting of the year. 3 at that meeting... the council deciding the future of the city's five swimming pools and a new, four million dollar park.the council will consider osing leeds and cook pools after the 2016 season and replace them with splash pads in 2017. leif erikson pool would remain open until it can no longer hold water. then it would be replaced with a

northside pool. the council will also vote on whether to go ahead with the initial plans to build the nenefour million dollar cone park near the i-b-p ice center in morningside. the park would eventually include a new aquatics center that would replace the lewis pool. 3 they've already been arrested once for breaking into cars. now three sioux city teens same thing again.marcos guthridge, kelley kuester and wiley spencer were arrested jususbefore 2 o'clock this morning... after a homeowner in the 36- hundred block of dupont street on the northside called police to report three people were breaking into vehicles. officers chased down the suspects. they are all charged with 2 counts of 3rd degree burglary. kuester and spencer are also charged with possession of burglary tools and interference with officicl actsts 3 3 the trees were gorgeous today. but it sure would be nice to see the sun again chad. 3

sioux city thursday afternoon. they will be at the wilbur aalfs library starting at 1 o'clock for a "stand with rand" meet and greet event. after the sioux city stop... they'll head to carroll for another event thursday afternoon at 4. 3 3 *before* senator paul's visit... siouxland will welcome the leading candndates from both the democrats and republicans tomorrow.. demomoatic frontrunner hillary clinton has an event planned for tomorrow afternoon at the orpheum theatre. that event is set to get underway at 2:15. 3 3 and tomorrow night in sioux center... republican candidate and texas senator ted cruz has an event planned at dordt college. cruz will speak at the de yager center starting at 6 o'clock tomorrow. the dordt appearance follows a full day of campmpgning... with stops in onawa an cherokee in northwest iowa. 3 iowa lawmakers have another week before they head back to work at the statehouse. reporter marcus mcintosh spoke with members of both houses to find out what they want to accomplish this year. 3 the january 11th start to the

over a federal wildlife sactuary in eastern oregon. the harney county ranchers at the middle of it all have left burns and arrived in los angeles to report to federal prison... where they will serve more time on an arson conviction. as chris liedle lie-dull reports... this does not change the militia's plans. 3 the militia led by nevada rancher ammon bundy says they have no plans to back down.. despite the dramatic increase of law enforcement.vobundy called on miltimembs from states as far away as arizona and colorado to protest the prosecution of two harney county ranchers - steve and dwight hammond.a federal judge convicted the father-son duo of arson after intentionally setting 127 acres of blm on fire nearly a decade ago.the judge sentenced thememto a lesser charge at first, but their case was recently appealed and they were ordered to finish out their fi year mandatory minimum sentence.on saturday bundy his supporters

malheur national wildlife refuge saturday and are calling on the federal government to release the land back to local ranchers.sot ammon bundy "statements are not good enough. we intend on gogog to work and assisting the people in harney county in claiming their rights and using their rights as free people."voammon bundy says they have no intention of becoming aggressive, but say if law enforcement shows up with force, they will respond with force.the militiaas they call themselves, restricted accece to the site by blocking driveway and manning a guard tower at the site.law enforcement has converged on harney county in rural eastern oregon.bundy and his supporters say they plan to occupy the refuge for months. in burns, reporting 3 the attorney for dwight hammond and his son says they're not associated with bundy's group, and that "neither ammon bundy nor ananne within his group or organization speaks for the hammond family."
