robbery that lead schools there to lock down this morning.that lockdown has since been lifted and students allowed to go home. 3 3 what we know at this hour is that around 10- 20 this morning... police were called to the hampton inn on south 20th street in norfolk for an armed robbery.police say a man carrying a gun entered the hotel and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.a search of the area found clothes, shoes, gloves and a weapon believed to have been left by the suspect.a nearby elementary and middle school went into lockdown during that search... but were able to dismiss school on time.anyone with information on that robbery is asked to call norfolk police immediately. 3 3 gas service is back on for all residents in sioux city's leeds neighborhood this evening... after a small break this morning.workers hit that half- inch residential line just after 10 this morning in the 43- hundred block of harrison street.midamerican energy crews responded quickly to repair that line.no customers went without gas during the half- hour it took to repair

3 police are looking for a 26- year- old man who walked away from sioux city's residential treatment facility.jacob petty is serving a 10- ar sentence for a 2008 robbery conviction.he was transferred to work release in october... and placed on escape status after failing to return to the facility tuesday night.he is an african- american man who stanan 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds.he has tattoos on his upper left arm and right calf.anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police immediately. 3 3 a sioux city group gave a big "thank you" to area military members and veterans this morning. 3 support siouxland soldiers held a "waffles for warriors" breakfast evenenthis morning at their headquarters on indian hills drive.active-duty service members and veterans were treated to free waffles and coffee... and also received a brand new hand- tied blanket made by students at morningside college. 3 "they gave a lot for us and its time that we gave back to

company that provides sioux city's traffic cameras has helped convict a chicago official of bribery. 3 martin o'malley worked for the phoenix - based camera company called red flex. he testified he passed envelopes stuffed with thousands of dollars in cash to john bills. bills was the second in command of chicago's department of transportation. federal prosecutors says bills also took illegal gifts - including condos in two states and a mercedes... all in an effort to steer a 100 million dollar contract to red flex. 3 a small helicopter made an emergency hard landing in a residential area of new york's long island.despite landing on its side, a student pilot and instructor on board were able to walk away and didn't need medical treatment.the private chopper made the landing about two miles from republic airport, where it was headed. the f-a-a, which is investigating the crash, says the helicopter reported havingng engine problems bere the landing. 3 3 there's a new treatment for
