that full story for you at 10 p.m. on kmeg-14, saturday night. reporting in marinette wisconsin, i'm jetske wauran, siouxland news. 3 3 the sioux city restaurant damaged earlier this month by fire will re- open on monday. 3 sneaky's chicken on gordon drive has spent the past three weeks cleaning up, re- modeling and renovating their restaurant after firefighters put out a fire in a storage shed attached to the restaurant's back.they will re- open to the public monday morning at 11 a- am...but will serve a special thank- you dinner for the workers who did the re- model sunday evening, along with the grand unveiling of the completed renovations. 3 3 the woodbury county board of supervisors is taking steps to update county policies. 3 this morning... the county's new policy review committee held its first meeting.that committee formed by the supervisors earlier this year to go over existing policies and make sure they're both up to date and being followed. committee chair matthew ung says it will help improve delivery of county

3 the university of okoboji's annual winter games are in their 36th year... as they get underway this weekend. siouxland's chief meteorologist chad sandwell joins us live from the lakes tonight...chad, what makes this event so special for the people of the lakes? 3 the end of january in siouxland usually means most of us are in the middle of the winter blues. but here in the iowa great lakes this weekend is a time to get out and celebrate the wonders of winter. and that celebration each year is a welcome boost to the areas economy. 3 it's natural for things to slow down in the winter. perhaps no one knows that better than the residents and business owners here in okobji. after 3 months of fun and sun, winters here slow to a crawl.boone dewall/owner

3 3 last weekend's "lunch with the chargers" fundraiser brought in some big bucks to briar cliff university.the annual event took place as part of the university's hall of fame weekend last friday at trattoria fresco restaurant downtown.current chargers student- athletes and coaches served lunch to nearly 300 people over three sold- out seatings... raising more than 30- thousand dollars.that money will go to support scholarships at briar cliff. 3 fresh off last night's final republican debate before monday's iowa caucuses... candidates are heading to northwest iowa to make their final pitches to voters.former florida governor jeb bush is in town right now... speaking at bev's on the river.once that event wraps up, he'll head up highway 75 to sioux center... where he'll hold a campaign event at the campus center at dordt college.doors for that event open at 5- 45... with bush scheduled to speak at 6- 45.we'll hear from the former florida governor coming up tonight on siouxland news at ten.

in the area this weekend.five republicans will be in the area *tomorrow*.florida senator marco rubio will get things started with a 9 a- m rally at bev's on the river. doors for that event will open at 8.kentucky senator rand paul is next.he's planning a rally at the holiday inn on gordon drive.that event's scheduled to start at noon.next is dr. ben carson. he'll be in sioux center as well... speaking at dordt.his event is scheduled to get underway at 3 p- m.former pennsylvania senator rick santorum will be in the area saturday evening.he's planning a town hall at the blue bunny ice cream parlor in le mars at about 6- 45 tomorrow night.after that... he's heading to a house part in start at 8.and finally, texas senator ted cruz will be in sioux city saturday night.cruz is planning to hold a rally at western iowa tech in sioux city... featuring congressman steve king.that event is also scheduled to get underway at 8 o'clock.three other candidates have plans to be in the area on sunday... chris christie, hillary clinton... and donald

3 3 a new study suggests that some risk factors for autism may be preventable. danielle nottingham has more from los angeles. 3 (track)diabetes and obesity are at epidemic levels in women of child bearing age.. and now a new study is linking the two conditions to autism risk. (sot dr. dani fallin/johns hopkins bloomberg school of public health) we found that mothers who were obese and diabetic during pregnancy had a risk four times greater than mothers who didn't of the child developing autism (track)the study published in the journal pediatrics also found a higher autism risk in mothers who developed gestational diabetes.
