we will have more sunshine after a cool and cloudy skies after a high of 59 in san jose. 67 degrees in san mateo. the embarcadero is up to 64 degrees with 72 in fairfield. fremont, a high of 67 degrees and pleasanton, looking at a high of 68 degrees. over the next couple of days, we'll see this area of low pressure moving closer to bring us scattered showers starting in the north bay late wednesday night into early thursday morning. and in time for that morning commute, we'll have wet roadways and scattered showers. winds behind this system will rush in from the north at about 15 to 20 miles an hour. even higher gusts and rainfall will be about a tenth of an inch for the bay area and close up to a quarter of an inch around santa rosa. heading into the weekend, we will have some drier weather as temperatures warm up into the upper 60s on friday and 80s for

last year the aspca rescued 13,000 animals from cruelty and neglect. and some of those rescues require extra tenderl loving care. >> animal plant's documentary takes us inside the first national facility dedicated to helping these dogs rebuild trust and get a new lease on life. take a look. >> sugar, he's a spit fire. he's definitely defensive. so when you try to approach him, it's really tough to leash him up. he's clearly undersocialized to people. we may be able to help him overcome his defensive behavior and learn to like people. one of sugar's main issues is not wanting to be touched. i'm amazed after one week of treatment he's doing so well.

there. how is he doing? >> he's been amazing. >> really? >> he is so cute, by the way. how adorable. >> these guys are adorable. we've been loving on them for a long time this morning. >> these are both up for adoption? >> casey will be ready in a moment. he's a 5-year-old terrier mix and he came to us through the partnership with the new york city police department. he was abandoned and emaciated. she was starved. he'll put on a little weight and he'll be ready to zbo >> and he has allergies. >> and he needs the sweater to keep him warm. >> and this is luna. >> luna looks happy, a 5-year-old boston terrier mix who came us to through the partnership with the new york city police department. she quickly reacted well to behavioral rehabilitation and blossomed. >> how do you know? i think a lot of people given the choice would love to adopt

but they worry about what if she reverts back to that other behavior. >> there's a few things you can do. first of all, know your dog's behavior. that's one of the great things about going to a shelter can tell you. we can tell you about these guys. you're also going to want to know what type of family. are you an active family? a dog that wants to go hiking or a little less active. is it a good match. i think what's really important is what all of these dogs represent is the incredible capacity for forgiveness, resilience. >> and how much we all need love. >> if someone is going to a shelter, what's the first thing they should look for in terms of signs that that's something they should do? >> how social the dog is, does he come up to, is he leaning into you. when bringing a dog in your home that's been a victim of abuse, let them set the pace. >> don't force anything on them.
