wkrn. >> that's what's making news this morning. making news in america this morning, hillary clinton's first comments about her health. she says she's feeling better following sunday's scare as donald trump wishes clinton well, but also hitting her for what she said about his supporters. we're live in d.c. see the scare on "dancing with the stars" after ryan lochte made his debut. protesters hit the dance floor. hear why they were there and what lochte said about it afterward. and new this morning, a frightening landing after a plane's landing gear malfunctions. the jet skidding across the tarmac with a dangerous payload on board. and a close encounter with a great white shark caught on camera. see how a swimmer saved himself
and good tuesday morning. we begin with hillary clinton anxious to get back on the campaign trail as she speaks out for the first time about her diagnosis of pneumonia. >> now, clinton says she never lost consciousness and felt better as soon as she got foo into her air conditioned van. in the meantime, donald trump went on the attack about an entirely different issue. we get the latest now from abc's lana zak. >> i'm feeling so much better. >> reporter: calling in to cnn last night, hillary clinton tried to reassure voters that her health isn't an issue that they should take to the ballot box while her husband bill clinton told charlie rose her campaign is not hiding any health secrets. >> nothing more to know. all of her health indicators are good and she's very strong. >> reporter: the democratic nominee acknowledged it was a combination of the heat and pneumonia that caused her to lose her balance as she left the 9/11 event in new york sunday but aides initially neglected to mention the pneumonia diagnosis that came on friday pegging it only to heat and dehydration. now clinton aides confessing
forthcoming but also saying that the public knows more about hrc than any nominee in history. one prominent democrat, however, sees a greater problem. david axelrod tweeting, "antibiotics can take care of pneumonia. what's the cure for an unhealthy penchant for privacy that repeatedly creates unnecessary problems?" clinton defended herself. >> i just didn't think it was going to be that big a deal. >> reporter: and suggested her competitor donald trump isn't held to the same standard. >> i think it's time he met the same level of disclosure tha >> reporter: trump who has been jabbing

expects to be on the campaign trail fairly soon. lana, thank you. in the meantime, donald trump came to the defense of his supporters as a scuffle broke out last night at his rally in north carolina. a man in the crowd grabbed a protester by the neck and punched him as he was being escorted out by security. the supporter also slapped a woman who was being led out of the arena, but he was not forced to leave that rally. a house republican has issued a subpoena to a high ranking fbi official aimed at accessing the full case file on hillary clinton's e-mail investigation. congressman jason chaffetz says many of the fbi records were blacked out or missing. republicans are challenge iing the fbi's decision not to prosecute her over her use of a private e-mail server. democrats say it's just an attempt to undermine clinton's presidential bid. and president obama says he's encouraged by some of the work in congress after sitting down with leaders from both
speaker paul ryan, national minority leader mitch mcconnell, house minority leader nancy pelosi and northridge minority leader harry reid. he expressed hope of reaching a bipartisan agreement to keep the government running and funding the battle against zika. well, everything all seems pretty happy there but then there's this battle that is about to take place. a fight with congress over a bill to allow 9/11 families to sue saudi arabia. both the house and senate unanimously passed the justice against sponsors of terrorism act, but the white house says the president will veto that 15 of the september 11th attackers were saudi nationals but saudi arabia so far has denied involvement. some victims' families have written the president asking him to sign the bill, but the white house argues it could lead other countries to enact similar laws against the u.s. the u.s. has made a major show of force just miles from north korea. the military flew two b1b bombers over the skies of south korea. the flight was in response to north korea's latest nuclear test, the most powerful one to date.
after a test in january. and as the cease-fire in syria enters its second day certain rebels are criticizing the plan. 21 insurgent groups have released a statement calling it unjust saying the international community is not serious about ending the fighting. meanwhile, the united states has confirmed the cease-fire does not include provisions for u.s. and russian approved air strikes by syria's government. quite a touching scene overnight in tennessee. the nine victims of a house fire were remembered last night at a vigil in memphis. family members released balloons into the sky, each one representing a victim. an electrical malfunction in an air conditioner in the living room sparked the fire which killed six children and three adults. memphis firefighters have been going door to door giving out smoke detectors. to the north in chicago, crews managed to knock down a massive fire which broke out in a strip mall.
at least three businesses were destroyed. two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. the cause of that fire at this hour under investigation. this christmas marks 20 years since the murder of 6-year-old jonbenet ramsey. now for the first time her older brother is opening up publicly about that day. burke ramsey was 9 when the young beauty queen's body was found in the basement of their colorado home. speaking with dr. phil, ramsey describes the moment he found out something was wrong. >> do you remember waking up that morning? >> yep. the first thing i remember is my mom first thing in my room really frantic, i remember her saying, where's my baby, where's my baby. i was scared, i think. i didn't know if there was some bad guy downstairs and my dad was chasing off with a gun or, you know, i had no idea. >> investigators first suspected an intruder then focused on the parents, john and patsy ramsey. both were cleared as suspects
and a u.s. sailor is set to be doing just fine after giving birth on an aircraft carrier to a baby she says she didn't know she was expecting. it happened on the "uss eisenhower." that was in the persian gulf. the sailor complained of abdominal pain then gave birth to a 7-pound girl. >> now, sailors are required to report a pregnancy but this particular sailor, as you mentioned, says she didn't know she was pregnant when she boarded the ship in june. mother and daughter were flown to a hospital in bahrain where both are reportedly doing well. coming up, new anger this morning over a bank executive's substantial golden parachute. and a new video just in. a 737 coming in for landing without working landing gear. the emergency early this morning. and a scare at "dancing with the stars" as protesters storm the stage. probably not the debut olympian

more than 2 million unauthorized customer accounts. the bank is paying $185 million in fines, but carrie tolstedt is retiring at the end of the year with $125 million as a bonus. her retirement was announced before the scandal was revealed. samsung reportedly has a fix for its galaxy 6 note phones. some of the batteries for the device have been exploding and catching fire. th evaluating the new battery as fast as it can. samsung has not official ly recalled the galaxy note 7 but instead offering exchanges for another phone. in the meantime, samsung recommends owners don't use the galaxy note 7. a preliminary investigation is blaming metal fatigue for a southwest airlines jet emergency landing last month. according to the ntsb, an engine fan blade broke off with pieces hitting the fuselage and leaving a hole in the outer skin. the plane lost cabin pressure and had to make an emergency

checking our top stories, hillary clinton is addressing concerns about her health and transparency speaking publicly about her bout with pneumonia for the first time, she says she's feeling better and didn't disclose her illness sooner because she didn't think it was a big deal. a donald trump supporter attacked protesters in north carolina last night pumping and slapping them as they were being escorted out of a rally. the scuffle broke out as trump was defending supporters hillary clinton called some of them deplorables. two men protesting the appearance of ryan lochte on "dancing with the stars" have been arrested after rushing the stage following lochte's performance. they were tackled by security and held until police arrived. looking at today's weather showers and storms in the western mountains moving through the midwest and also along the southern coast. chilly in the northeast before things warm up a bit, 82 in boston. and finally this morning a school event that no one
