we have delays on the 10 and we'll map that out in a few minutes. lots of damage at a fire at an apartment complex in tempe but the damage wasn't from the flames. this happened because food was left on the stove. there was minor damage to the cabinets near the stove and the fire was out before firefighters arrived because the sprinklers kicked on, flooding some of the units there. five people from two units displaced. three weeks and counting to the presidential election. there's a new effort to get you to the ballot box. >> a lot of people say arizona is a swing state this year. >> reporter: we are talking about bernie sanders, chelsea clinton in the valley, also michelle obama. she says she's coming to the valley, just announced.

phoenix police officers investigating a stabbing near 7th street and broadway. it happened late last night. a 33-year-old man is recovering in the hospital. a tucson woman is recovering after being shot in the arm while a gun from her child's hands. authorities say the gun was unsecured when the toddler got hold of it. her injuries are not life- threatening and so far no charges have been filed. mcso making it official in response to police officers being shot across the country, volunteer armed posse members now riding in the patrol sea breezes of many deputies. the idea is to offer a second

she wasn't threatening any physical harm to the neighbors. still she's been charged with disorderly conduct which could mean jail time. that occurs when a person intentionally disturbs the peace an quiet of a neighborhood. her attorneys say this is a first amendment issue and speech is still protected. >> it's maybe offensive speech, but offensive speech is protected. this case presents the question, is it a crime swear at another person. and the answer is not in a free society, not in our society. it's just not a crime. >> reporter: we checked with the prosecutor and she says there is a hearing later this month because the defense filed a motion to dismiss all charges. we'll keep you updated on what happens. we are three weeks out from the presidential election, a lot of political eyes on

julia roberts, helen mirren and others were at an event for hillary clinton. bill and chelsea clinton also attended that event. we have an update on a shooting investigation from late last night. we learned a 33 year was shot in the leg. turns out he got into somebody's car to purchase property and was shot in the car. shady, yes. then he went to a nearby door, where they called 911. no suspect information at this point. bikers, wear your helmets. two motorcycle riders are recovering from serious injuries after getting thrown from a bike at 73rd avenue and indian school. we are told they are expected to survive. they were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation. phoenix police are expected to officially identify the two

that's coming up in the seven- day forecast. drivers in the north valley, starting to see the desert drive times inching up, to about 11 minutes here on the 101 eastbound. the drive time takes you to 51 but by the time you hit 7th avenue, things are looking much better. we have a crash on the 10 westbound at university drive. i don't think it's going to slow you down much. where you'll see the slowing on the 10 west valley drivers, this is probably a situation you're used to but it's pretty heavy. you get over 30 minutes to get to the airport, so expect a lot of delays there. we'll look at i-10 in the east valley next. how about this shipment? this is a bunch of cargo on its way to the international space station, the rocket blasting off in virginia late last night.

sky harbor, some places in the 50s in the valley. we're in the 80s this afternoon and a lot of areas will even get into the 90s today. we'll see a high of 91, then 96 by thursday. it will get even warmer after today. plenty of slow spots out there. the worst is going to be in th west valley. i-10 eastbound, about 30 minutes there from 91st avenue till you hit the tunnel or so. we also have a new crash from the a-dot camera, right near the mini stack. this is loop 202 westbound, blocking the hov lane. this is just past 24th street approaching the mini stack. you're starting to see about a mile of slowing there till that all clears up. delays could stack up there.
