abc7 news starts right now with live, breaking news. >> and that breaking news is happening at san francisco city hall. deputies in riot gear clash with protesterses refusing to leave the building. tonight they are demanding the firing of police chief greg sir. i'm dan ashley. >> i'm ama daetz. >> let's go to alyssa harrington who is live at city hall. >> the protesters are refusing to leave and are below mayor ed lee's balcony. there has been a lot of pushing and shoving and a few arrests. demonstrator want the police chief fired.

they accuse the department of police brutality and unnecessary killing. the group chanted outside mayor lee's office before being forced downstairs. they knocked down a metal detector and used it to prop open one of the doors. they are here in solidarity with five hunger strykers who -- hunger strikers who have been hospitalized. they are continuing from their hospital beds and are continuing to be force fed. police are outside to assist if things get out of hand. no word of injuries, but the protesters did call for an ambulance. they tell us they planned to stay here all weekend, but if that can't happen they will move back to the mission police station. reporting live in san francisco, alyssa harrington, abc7 news. >> alyssa, thank you for that report. stay on top of the breaking news story with the abc7 news app. enable push alerts and get updates as they happen. to developing news, a prominent san francisco attorney killed at her own home.

police are on the lookout for this package thief. video surveillance shows her walking up with an empty decoy box. she rang the door bell and when no one answered she switched boxes. she said it contained clothes for her daughter. the mother of a seven-month-old girl with a rare heart condition has decided to keep her on life support at children's hospital and look for other options. she was denied a heart transplant. the transplant was thought to be the last hope for her condition that caused her only to have have of her -- half of her heart developed. they denied the transplant because they believed the body would reject a new heart. ?ai a bay area family found themselves in the middle of a heated debate after they were kicked off a flight over their son's peanut allergy. >> reporter: 2-year-old theo has a severe peanut allergy.

doctors told them to be cautious. >> we said our son has a peanut allergy and if there was anything they can do. >> reporter: the flight uh 10 department refused their request, but they would still fly. >> we were sitting there like normal and they came and said you need to get off the plane. >> reporter: it was an allegiant airlines fly from provo to oakland. allegiant said the third party organization which includes on call medical doctors advised that the family not fly on that specific flight. >> he was not expecting the attention his story received and he was certainly not expecting hate mail. >> we have been called over protective helicopter parents and we have been called all sorts of names. >> they are only trying to bring attention to the allergy issue. >> it is a bigger issue than getting kicked off the plane. it is more to just help those

there is still an isolated possibility of thunder. look at the hour by hour time line. 11:00 we are looking at clouds. we go into tomorrow morning and we see a batch of showers developing in the north bay and the east bay. light to moderate and intensity. the yellow indicating the moderate pockets of rain. by 10:00 a.m. it is widespread across the bay area. noontime we have the showers going with the exeption is of the north bay. most areas it is steady. by 2:00 p.m. it is spotty. if you they'd to get out and about -- if you need to get out and about it is going to be a hit or miss shower. we get a several hour break. we will see more showers redeveloping tomorrow night and then they continue to midnight on sunday. and then they are done. you don't have to worry about mom's plans being ruined if you have outdoor plans on sunday. here are the rainfall totals. we are looking to a 10th to .40 of an inch across the buy area through saturday
