just more than a year after opening its doors, a downtown market and cafeteria is closing its doors. "reno provisions" opened last december on the corner of sierra and first streets. chef-and-owner mark estee says the "vertical integration" concept was always something he wanted to do, but the business never took off. he says he knew after just a few weeks of opening, provisions was in trouble.. and recent downsizing wasn't enough to keep the doors open. still, making the decision to close was a tough one. "i've got a smile on my face but inside it's been really difficult but that's part of business that's part of being an entrepreneur i think people look at entrepreneurs, chefs look at how great it is and all my chef friends will probably smile we all kind of commisserate together sometimes." estee says many of the employees there are moving to some of his other ventures, like campo and shay

he plans to focus on those restaurants, and catering in the coming months... spending more time in the kitchen, and contuing to support the local food movement. jeff, thanks. president obama is about to start his final full year in office. and he's spelling out his agenda for the remaining time in the white house. which includes gun control. jim acosta looks at proposals expected to be revelaed next week. natsot: obama playing golf. for president obama, the final round is about to begin. : "in 2016, i'm going to leave it out all on the field." natsot: chopper up first in the president's eighth and last year in office... mr. obama's long-promised response to mass shootings in the u-s... sources familiar with the plan say it will be a package of executive actions on gun control... expected before the jan. 12th state of the union.. and aimed at the gun show loophole.. which allows some firearms sellers to avoid conducting background checks on their customers.

contractions in a row." after twenty hours... doctors decided to do a c-section. "i was nervous i started bawling had any sort of surgery so going into the operating room "i didn't handle it well i wanted to protect here and there was nothing i could do." the surgery didn't take long... and baby adalie was born at two oh two in the morning. "my mom's been waiting a long time for her baby to have a baby so here we are." the new parents have been trying to start a family for years... and 20-16 is that year.

all are healthy and happy. in reno chris buckley kolo 8 news now. more than four- thousand babies were delivered at renown children's hospital last year.### and talk about double- trouble. these two kiddos, fraternal twins, were born in two different years. baby "girl" valencia was born in san diego one minute before midnight on new year's eve. her brother, baby "boy" valencia, was born two minutes after midnight on new year's day. the twins weren't due for another month, but both are happy and healthy.### the new year is a great time to start eating right and working out. coming up we have some tips to getting started. and do you remember the "waver?" up next we'll tell you about how some are trying to keep his memory alive. so what kind of weather can we expect tomorrow, and into the rest of the week? we will have a closer look at our forecast...and what you can expect in the days

he was reno's most well known ambassador for years. bringing smiles to the faces of thousands of people by simply waving his hand. ed carlson, simply known as "ed the waver" passed away back in december of 2012. at the time, residents saddened by his death decided to honor him in the best way they knew how: by walking, and waving... today that tradition continued. kolo 8 news now's colin lygren was there. nats - happy new year... a joyous celebration "this is just a nice, positive way of remembering him and carrying out his simple message of just waving to people." dozens of people...

- look in your kitchen. is there anything there, once you start into this fitness journey. fitness trainer edzar felipe says in our on the go society - it's easy to fall into the trap of prepared meals or fast food. but he says they won't give you the best nutrition for the calories. he tells his clients to avoid diets - but focus on making meals with five or fewer main ingredients. it can be as simple as a basic sandwihich you know you put some cabs in there which is the bread, put some protien in there which is eggs or meat or whatever you prefer..and then most importantly you put some greens in there you know, spinach is my favorite and there you go you have one complete meal for lunch ready to go - and you can just grab that... eat it. he says preparation is the key to avoiding temptation throughout the day. .. and if you aren't ready for a full lifestyle change... just replacing one meal at a time for a healtier alternative is enough. when it comes to getting active... trainer darien cobon says it's ok to start small there too. so you start one little thing and you start feeling better and you automatically realize this change in yourself and i think that the mental gains that people get from one little thing.... it may be waking up an hour earlier or going to one fitness class per week or just doing yoga or just doing
