this evening. the weak upper low over southwest oregon is still expected to move southeast across western nevada tonight. the nam is now dry, but the gfs continues to show a weak band developing. have left the current forecast as is since the gfs/ec continue to hint at the band. any snow amounts in the band will be light and generally less than one inch. the focus would most likely be within 50 miles of a portola to austin line. after the low moves through, clearing is expected sunday as high pressure strengthens along the west coast. kicking a carson city sheriff deputy. they say andrew james hettrick refused after he was asked to leave a north carson bar.

hettrick allegedly began kicking at officers, striking one of used to subdue him. he is being held on 30- thousand dollars bail. on charges of resisting arrest. secret witness is offering a 15-hundred arrest and prosecution of a man who robbed a yesterday morning. it was around 3-20 a-m when this man walked into the store on sun valley boulevard. witnesses say, the man he's described as white, about six feet tall with a medium build. mask and brown coveralls. the suspect got away in a gray four-door sedan. if you recognize this man or have any information that can help investigators, call the washoe county sheriff's office or secret witness. ### when it comes to gambling in the silver state - it was another bad year for the gaming industry. casinos in the silver

15. that's according to data from the nevada gaming control board. it's the sixth-straight year in the red for casinos in las vegas, reno, and elsewhere statewide. analysts say the trend began with the 2008 recession -- fewer tourists, and far less spending at the tables and slot machines. a nevada gaming control board economist says the losing streak should end this year, with a record 42-million visitors expected in las vegas alone. today's powerball jackpot growing to a record 900-million dollars. that's an increse of 200-million from wednesday's jackpot... which no one won. lines at gold ranch casino in verdi have been long all week.... but this morning... the line stretched all the way down the parking lot... and people were prepared to wait more than an hour and a half at that point. gold ranch employees spent the morning directing traffic through the resort. many nevadans who

disabled skiers achieve what they never thought possible. but going into this season. tahoe's "disabled sports" decided they no longer wanted to be defined by what their clients couldn't do. kolo 8 news now's colin lygren shows us how their recent name change is so much more than that. they're work remains the same. but a new name. equals a new focus at disabled sports u.s.a. far west. "we thought it was time to update our name to be a little bit more empowering, and speak to what we really do in programs." moving forward.... the program will be known as "achieve tahoe." the name... playing off do... and not what is holding them back. "calling the program disabled sports or adaptive skiing has always been effective in explaining what we do, but it really does not explain where we want to take people." achieve tahoe on the other hand... does explain that. just take a run with one of the adaptive skiers... and you'll see... not only

"i think it is more broad for everybody and we are always constantly trying to achieve something." junghae kim is the perfect example of that. she heard about the program 15 years ago... and has been tearing up the mountain ever since. "it was a little bit crazy idea at the time, but that is how it all began and here i have 15 years later and i can ski the whole mountain now." whether it's a physical disability... mental disability... or wounded warrior... it doesn't matter. achieve tahoe focuses on the ability... d makes a difference in peoples lives.
