income, and i need social security numbers for everybody that is enrolled. alex sampson has been signing people up for health insurance since november. he says unlike in years past, with the federal site, the process has been pretty easy this year for his clients. he says even if people want to stick with their current plan it is best to come in and make sure all the information is accurate and carries over through 2000- 16. he says these days most people who come see him qualify and are taking advantage of federally subsidized insurance. but he has a couple of suggestions because there are options within that insurance as well. first he says many people underestimate their annual income hoping to get a better subsidy and less expensive insurance. sampson: it all washes out in your taxes. and so if you really want to overtake that subsidy, by all means. yep, i earned right at this threshold. i earned $16,000 right on the dot. and yea that is going to leave you a huge subsidy. if you earn $16,500 you get a great subsidy
penny of it back. when it comes to that subsidy. he says you have the option of not taking the entire amount. again he says that gives you a cushion where your chances of paying back the government are less, and you could even get a rebate at tax time 2000-17 sampson says health benefits associates will be open extra hours to help people sign up for health insurance. health link will be holding a sign up event at mckinley arts center on saturday the 30th those who wait to the last minute to sign up for health insurance. terri russell kolo 8 news now. the longtime c-e-o of the chamber of commerce in the reno- sparks area is retiring. len stevens took the top spot at the reno chamber of commerce 2002. merger of chambers of commerce in reno and
