"we could open up idlewild would be in march because we are finishing up replacing the solar panels at the pool and need about a month to drain to get it ready to go." but swimmers think the city needs to think about the bigger picture. "we need to build a new pool. we have a group working on a pool where moana used to be." the city agrees a new pool is needed but like most things it comes down to money. "a good estimate could $15 to $20 million based on what you want to build." nats fade. if repairs go according to plan... the city is hopeful the evelyn mount pool could reopen... in september of this year.

now. california will be receiving a 107-million- to help with the aftermath of last year's wildfires. 200-square miles, forced thousands out of their homes, and killed 6- people. one of the fires in lake county destroyed nearly 2-thousand structures. this ranks as one of the most expensive fires in state, and u-s history. billion dollars in insured losses. ### governor brian sandoval is asking the obama administration to adjust its sage grouse protection plan. the plan is tying up thousands of mining claims... but the governor wants to reduce the restricted area. sandoval believes there are more effective ways to protect the bird... such as reining in wild horse herds and restoring burnt-out rangeland. governor sandoval's alternative would only exclude about 6 percent of federal land which has been withdrawn from future mineral development in nevada. more arrests were made in the oregon wildlife refuge

we're sharing a special pair. it's a big and a little with big brothers big sisters. kolo 8 news now's dave lawrence introduces us to sea-czar cesar and stevie. these two love hitting the floor at roller kingdom. they not only like a little roller skating...but they also have a shared love of socks! "we love socks. we really like socks a lot. it's a way we can express ourselves i guess you could say." stevie and his sock obession seemed to happen after getting matched up with cesar. that's not the only change this little guy has gone through recently. "yeah he's definitely been a lot more confident doing better in school. doing real well in school actually." "stevie has a lot of energy for sure. not a bad thing. but we have to do activities higher intense activities to make sure he doesn't get bored." "during the summer we were going to the park a lot. stevie he doesn't get bored."

our doctors about it. researchers writing in a c-d-c journal found that three in four americans age 45 and older who have memory problems don't bring it up at their medical visits. and memory loss isn't necessarily a normal part of aging. it may be an important sign, especially if it appears in younger people. the author of the report says many fear the spectre of alzheimer's so much that they choose not to speak of memory loss -- after all, it has no cure. but some other forms of memory loss do have a solution... and in this study, those who mentioned their forgetfulness were more likely to get treatment. so if you've been losing track of a little more than just your keys, remind yourself to talk to your doctor about it. with this medical minute, i'm dr. timothy johnson.
