pollutants and may create hazy conditions as well. no precipitation is forecast through the end of the work week, with only small chances possible by weekend. &&.short term... a strong high pressure reno police have arrested a woman they believe robbed a convenience store in stead sunday. just after 2:30am sunday officers responded to the jacksons convenience store on stead boulevard on a report of a robbery. after releasing surveillance photos to the public the suspect was identified as 18- year-old kassandra portillo of reno. during an interview with detectives admitted to the robbery. police so far don't think there is a connection between this robbery and a similar one in stead monday morning. we're getting a look at the men who police say broke into the total wine on south virginia and stole expensive bottles of wine and liquor. it happened early sunday morning. the suspects are described as being a

with heavy builds. according to police, the men loaded the alcohol into a white ford f-150 then took off. police say similar burglaries have happened in other states recently. "we do have information that in california, arizona and las vegas that similar incidents that happened here on sunday morning have occurred at other total wine businesses." a 1-thousand dollar reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. if you know anything, you're urged to call secret witness at 322- 4900. we now know the identities of the vicitim and driver involved in a deadly pedestrian crash on i-580 in washoe valley. n-h-p says 42-year-old james dolan of sparks was driving north in the slow lane when he hit 18-year old chile bartels of carson city. bartels was pronounced dead at the scene. the crash shut down i- 580 between bellevue road and bowers for several hours. dolan was arrested on warrants that were unrelated to the

an inmate mistakenly released from los angeles county sheriff's department is back in custody. officials say steven wright was arrested monday at a hotel in boulder city, nevada. wright was released erroneously from an inmate reception center on january 30th. he is now being held in a nevada facility... pending an extradition hearing. officials say he will not face additional charges. a las vegas man will spend the next several years behind bars after being sentenced as a habitual criminal. a washoe district judge sentenced shawn procacina to 25 years in prison for a string of burglaries that started in june of last year. procacina will not be eligible for parole for ten years. ### the new hampshire primary is underway and the presidential candidates are still stumping for last minutes votes. the latest polls have gop frontrunner donald trump and democrat bernie sanders in the lead but anything can happen tonight. abc's kenneth moton is in manchester with more

donating to non profits across the country ... and reno is one of 75 communities to be selected. 10-thousand dollars in grants were distributed to each city. public voting was used to determine how the money would be broken up among the top 3 non profits in our area. n-c-e-t took first place and received 5-thousand dollars. assistance league of reno-sparks was awarded 3-thousand and northern nevada literacy council received the remaining 2-thousand. since all of the groups are non-profits . they rely heavily on donations and funding from grants like the one awarded by the yelp foundation. "we're really a very thinly funded organization, and so to get this additional $5,000 from yelp really allows us to take on new things we wouldn't be able to do otherwise." all three organizations plan to use the funds to expand their services in the truckee meadows. the numbers are in. 88-thousand nevadans enrolled or re- enrolled in health coverage through the federal insurance marketplace in the past three months.

with the progress made during the third annual open enrollment period of the affordable care act. officials with the nonprofit enroll america say the silver state saw a 20-percent increase in sign-ups at nevada health link this enrollment period compared to last year. for decades, the anaconda mine near yerington produced copper by the ton. but operators left behind toxic remnants-- containing uranium and heavy metals. now governor sandoval is asking for more time in deciding whether to list the mine among the nation's most contaminated sites. it's already designated as a "super fund" site which helped funnel federal funds to the mine. the e-p-a though wants to put it on their national priority list which could mean the feds would pick up 90 percent of the cost of clean up. the governor though says the state is not ready to make that decision given that many residents are opposed to it, fearing it would have a negative impact on property values. the governor is asking them to hold off until september-- giving them time to look elsewhere for the money. a cruise ship has to cut its trip short after

collects supplies him with up to 6 months of water for his vegetables. there's just one problem... rain barrels are illegal in nevada....the law is not currently enforced, but still-e says if he had to stop, it would significantly impact his business. " we'd just have to pay more for treated water and the interesting thing with that is vegetables grow better with rain water than they do with treated water so it would be a double negative if we have to pay more and use treated water." but he may not have to worry... jason king.. nevada's state engineer says his office does not enforce the law... in fact he supports the use of rain barrels on a small level. he says there are two intirm committees looking at changing the water law to allow small levels of water collection. he says the issue may be brought up in the next legislative session. with concern about the zika virus growing

david lowell says they tried to stop her from going down the wrong path. abc's eva pilgrim is here with the story script: this morning, the father of murdered 13 year old nicole lovell speaking out for the first time ? since learning the details of his daughter's death. david lovell/father: i bet she fought like a wildcat. i mean she's my kid. two virginia tech students? 18 year old david eisenhauer? and 19 year old natalie keepers are behind bars accused of allegedly plotting to murder the 13 year old for weeks. authorities say eisenhauer had an "inappropriate" relationship with her -- communicating with her on social media. dr phil that her family tried to step in after finding out she was talking to older men online. daughter in ohio had dug around in nicole's instagram accounts and kik and so on few of those. abc news finding this account showing that around thanksgiving? she was chatting with a guy named david.

point discussions about her social media activity in november and december leading up to this... they had taken her phone away from her because they felt like she was having inappropriate conversations...and of course now, like a father, he's just feeling like "oh my god" i should have done more. one of lovell's friends telling abc news? she referred to eisenhauer as her boyfriend? authorities say - eisenhauer told them he saw her the night she disappeared, giving her a hug before going home. 4 days later, police finding the girl's body 80 miles from her home? about 2 miles from eisenhauer's grandparents home. david lovell/father: i would like to get locked up in the same cell with him. i'm pretty sure i could get answers out of him. he took my little girl. keepers and eisenhauer are both still behind bars... neither has entered a plea. both are expected back in court at the end of march. this has shaken the

safety regulators say that a circular clip around the pistons may be missing or was improperly installed... that can cause a pin on the piston to rub against the engine block and possibly cause engine failure or a fire. it was unclear if any crashes... fires or injuries had happened. dealers will inspect the piston clips and fix them if necessary. dealers can't sell the affected cars until they are repaired. honda has also added more than 2-million cars to the growing list of recalls over takata airbags that could explode. the japanese automaker said certain honda and acura vehicles from the 2005 to 2016 model years are being recalled to replace the airbags. this latest addition brings the total number of recalled vehicles to a little over 8 and a half million. the company will replace the defective inflators with new parts from a different supplier. the new parts will be available this summer.. last year was not a good year to go into the water. 2015 set a new record for unprovoked shark attacks in the u-s and worldwide. that's according to the florida museum of natural history. there were 59- unprovoked shark attacks in the u-s last year. that beats the record set in 2012 of 53 attacks. the report also found there were 98- unprovoked attacks across the world... beating the 88-record attacks in 2000. experts say more swimmers, surfers and divers in the water attributed to the attacks in the u-s. and now your kolo 8 hour-by-hour weather forecast with lindsey

best place to start is with your medicine cabinet. it's really not the best place to keep things... there's humidity, temperature fluctuations, if the bottles aren't sealed correctly moisture can get in. i'm going to remove all my medications as i go through them, and find a safer spot, like my dresser drawer! but of course, we need some rules to follow... like, how do we know which medications are no longer safe to take? so, open the packaging, make sure it has been sealed properly. liquids might start to clump or the product might start to separate. if the tablets look crushed or discolored or cracking- even though they're within date they may have been exposed to temperature fluctuation. now that i know what to keep, i can't just toss this old medication in the trash. one way i recommend is take any of your capsules, tablets- medications that you have that are expired, crush them up a little bit, add a little bit of water, they recommend to either throw old coffee grounds, food scraps, kitty litter, saw dust- anything to make it filthy or putrid so that
