three people were killed when a truck rear ended a trailer carrying a group of people celebrating halloween. among the dead, two children and one adult. police now confirm they were related. seven people were injured total. the crash is currently being investigated. we'll bring you more details as they become available. >> one person killed and five others injures after a massive explosion rocked rural alabama sending a plume of smoke into miles. fire crews raced to contain the fire ball at the scene, but it happened about a mile away from the site of a recent gas leak. they have shut down the main gas lines in the area. crews built a dirt dam to contain burning fuel. wildfires burning 32 acres. >> a potential bomb threat caused one spirit airlines to evacuate for the night.

exhausted. that's when it happened before takeoff. a passenger alerted crew members about a suspicious text message seen on another passenger's phone. both men were evacuated and interviewed. the plane was eventually cleared and no arrests were made. >> dakota police and rotesters remain at odds over the controversy oil pipeline in north dakota as tribes and construction. one has now been charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer after according to an affidavit, she fired at police with a handgun during protests last week. the attempted murder charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, but it's not just protesters on the ground voicing their objections. over a million people across the country have been flocking to social media and changing their locations to claim that they're actually at those standing rog protests.

topped 600 was back in 2003, but there's a difference between now and then. with the help of community involvement back then, 51% of murders were actually solved in 2003. today, only 21% of homicides have been solved. officials cite a lack of trust between police and the local community as a major factor, and while chicago promises to hire nearly 1,000 new officers in the coming months, there are less officers in the city than there were in 2003. >> bill cosby is expecte expected to be a two-day hearing. his defense team filed new motions in his latest attempt to get sexual assault charges against him. they argue the 13 women of accusing cosby of abusing them are unreliable. in the motion, they add, quote, there has never been a shred of physical evidence to support such claims.
