g- o- p presidential hopeful will hold a happy hour event at bev's on the river in sioux city friday evening. that event's set to get underway at 4 o'clock friday afternoon. 3 and former hewlett- packard c- e- o carly fiorina will also be in northwest iowa this weekend. her campaign says she'll be at the same g- o- p rally as santorum... this friday in orange city. she'll follow that with a 10 a- m event at the stoney creek inn in sioux city on saturday 3 the new pork processing plant under construction in the bridgeport industrial park could be getting more help from the city of sioux city. the city council is considering approving a tax exemption for the new seaboard- triumph pork plant. that plant will be the biggest employer in sioux city when it opens in january of 2017... adding 12- hundred new jobs. details on the possible exemption aren't available right now... but could come up at the hearing on the issue that was unanimously approved tonight by the council. mayor bob scott is excited about the possibilities the plant is

3 "this is part of a huge...huge developement for us. probably the biggest in sioux city history at this point. " the city council also approved a 75 thousand dollar subsidy for siouxland paramedics... to cover emergency ambulance services and other possible fees, including moving expenses. the council also approved a 5 year lease for the paramedics' new home... which they're set to move into in a few weeks. if the subsidy is not used in full, the city will get the left over money back. 3

the late afternoon it may be possible to see a few showers, especially to the east. afternoon highs will top out right around 60. the cold front will come through early on wednesday, and that means we should see much cooler days the rest of the week. look for highs to stay in the 50s through at least saturday.>>3 3 the body pulled from missouri river last week has been identified. the dakota county sheriff's office and south sioux city police department believe the death was an accident. a kayaker going down the river saw what he thought was a body late thursday afternoon. officials couldn't look for it until friday because of the weather and poor light. a dakota county sheriff's patrol boat found the body just south of the homer boat ramp... and identified it as 32 - year - old robert galvin. who'd been reported missing the

previous sunday. an autopsy showed galvin drowned and he'd been in the water for a few days. police are investigating this death as an accident. 3 one man is dead after an accident on i - 29 near tea south dakota yesterday afternoon. a pickup was going south when it went into the ditch... crossed over into the median... and rolled over into oncoming traffic. that's when it hit a motorcycle that was going the opposite direction. the motorcycle driver was pronounced dead. the south dakota highway patrol is still investigating the accident. 3 another long- time siouxland lawmaker is leaving the iowa house. ron jorgensen has represented iowa house district 6... which includes the morningside area, sergeant bluff, bronson and salix... in the iowa house since 2010 when the house isn't in session... he's the vice president for business and finance at morningside college. jacob bossman... the northwest iowa regional director for u- s senator chuck grassley and a former co- chair of the woodbury county republican party... announced this afternoon he

3 it's about to get just a little bit harder to access sioux city's chris larsen park. the city is closing chris larsen road and the walking trail between floyd boulevard and the anderson dance pavilion until next summer. that's so crews working on the i- 29 construction project can complete work on the new expressway between nebraska street and floyd boulevard, as well as re-build chris larson road. during this period... riverfront access will be availble from hamilton boulevard. 3 students at morningside elementary got some special visitors this morning. some of the sioux city musketeers turned up to initiate the transitional kindergarten class into the muskies' kids club. four muskies players will volunteer in their classroom throughout the year... incorporating science, technology, engineering and math concepts as applied to the game of hockey. 3 "it kinda brings back alot of memories obviously everybody has been here before. actually i haven't been to pre-school for a while now. so it's a little interesting to see how

" each monday... a different group of players will visit the class. this monday's group brought the students an autographed jersey. 3 a group of young siouxland soccer players is heading abroad for a pair of tournaments next summer. the siouxland diablos is a team of 20, 14 and 15- year- olds from sioux city and south sioux city. next july... those players and their coaches will head to europe to play in a pair of international youth tournaments. first up will be the gothia cup in sweden... the world's largest youth tournament that involves 16- hundred teams from more than 80 countries. the next week... the diablos will head to denmark for a tournament involving more than a thousand teams. 3 "it change your life. you get to see different culture, meet different people, different styles of soccer. so in any way, it's a great experience" the norm waitt senior y- m- c- a has set up a go fund me account to help offset the cost of the trip... which is
