. the rain gear came in handy today. we continue tracking showers and a change in the forecast for mid-week. new at 11:00. we are there as more concerns are expressed over big changes for east bay students. and how a computer virus is attacking one of the military's important weapons against terror. live, this is kron 4 news at 11:00. it was a rainy finish to all the fesivities in san francisco today. today was the last day of the event. not many people out today but it was a beautiful weekend for the slips and the share show and we are here tonight, still a few showers around.

>> showers lingering into tomorrow but big changes for tomorrow. >> when do we start? >> warmer weather tomorrow afternoon. here is our satellite. rain pushed through northern california today. now we are seeing light showers continuing as the end of the storm pushes through and we will have dier conditioning. one thing, the rain flew under the radar. it's not picking up anything right now although we are seeing light ray through the bay area. our radar sites are 4,000 feet and the showers are under the radar. as you can tell, we have seen a lot of rain in some spots. half inch in petaluma. castro valley, a third of an inch right now. quarter of an inch in heyward. 10th in san francisco and under that in san jose.

most spots closer to the lower amounts here that bottom of the list. tomorrow, a chance for lingering showers into the morning. scattered, light. decreasing clouds and 5-15 degrees warmer into the afternoon. this week it stays sunny but the weekend rain. new tonight at 11:00. parents in oakland are fuming about lake view elementary possibly closing for good. some officials met with them to discuss the issue. lake view is one of 5 schools on the chopping block. kron 4's reggie kumar have more. -- has more. the community meeting monday night was heated. so heated that oakland school officials threatened to stop it all together. >> stick together and fight and

[ indiscernible ] >> a lot of parents, including myself if the school closes i am putting him somewhere else. >> they closed before you, 10 years ago before you and it didn't work. the schools are still having trouble maintaining. so if you are going to close another school it's not going to work. >> reporter: parents argued it is one of the safest schools in the city but the superintendent says they have too many schools open for a district of this size and the funding is not there. the 5 schools slated for closure have low enrollment.

>> we have about 100 schools and so with 38,000 kids, trying to fund all of those schools, the resources are spread thinly. >> reporter: it would save the district more than $2 million. another meeting will be held tuesday at 6:00 p.m. they will make their decision october 26. reggie kumar, kron 4 news. also in oakland tonight, protesters gathered for a demonstration of the "occupy wall street" movement. let's take a look at what is happening now. you can see many people still there. police are allowing the protesters to continue to stay at frank ogawa plaza downtown today. dozens still they. they decided to camp out. they want to remain unified in their fight against corporate greed. >> it was impossible to make a

living. you can't get a job with a corporation because you are too old or overqualified. >> officers say they are allowed to continue their demonstration tonight as long as it stays peaceful. >> another occupy demonstration in iowa. not quite as peaceful. you can see what happened. it ended with multiple arrests. the police were dragging some people away. you can see that as well. authorities warn the group they didn't have the proper permits and would be removed. president obama is hoping that his jobs plan will ease the protests that are happens across the nation. the bill is expected to come up before the senate tomorrow. meanwhile more jobs are already headed to the bay area. belmont will be the new home to the largest solar manufacturer. sun edison is hoping to bring 300 new jobs over the next 5

years. more bay area news. san jose police are investigating a officer involved shooting that left a suspect dead this morning. happened near a school on hillsdale avenue. police were called to the scene after somebody heard gun shots. when officers approached, the man threatened them, that's when they fired, killing him. also in san jose, police are asking the public to help them solve a double homicide. it happened this weekend. you can see the crime scene at south third street and virginia. police responded to reports of a shooting at 11:00 saturday morning. when the officers arrived they found a man and woman dead. police don't have a motive for the shooting. and we have new details on the shooting spree in cupertino. the limestone quarry is now back open. last wednesday shareff allman

problem. this have stolen specifications and took 24,000 military files in a single intrusion this year. officials admit there have been multiple intrusions and more tools are being developed every year. >> the most malicious actors haven't obtained the most harmful capabilities but this situation will not hold forever. there will be a marriage of capable and intent where those who mean us harm will gain the ability to launch cyber attacks. there is not a lot of time to fix this problem. the pentagon has launched a special program to try to stop cyberthreat but whatever happens with this virus almost everybody is convinced it will not be the last. catherine heenan, kron 4 news.

his first head coaching job as a assistant for 20 years. raiders returned home last night from houston where the raiders held on to beat the texans. and the fans, first and foremost, quite a fan base. today fans left flowers and other memorabilia to honor l davis. the raider flag flew at half mass and hue jackson had these words to say about the departed al davis. >> my job is to help the organization to where it wants to be within his vision. that's what i am setting out to do. with that's what i am going to do as long as i am here. it's about winning championships and that's what we will be about. we are not going to back down from that. >> there will be tribute sunday versus cleveland.
