he fired one shot at the suspect. the suspect is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. please do not know if he is connected to a string of robberies that have happened in oakland over the past several weeks. on september 5th they did a sweep of oakland and arrested six suspects. we do not know if they are a part of this week, but nonetheless, the off-duty police officer is fine. we're hoping to hear from the off-duty police officer as well as the police department as to exactly what happened.

but in the 1700 block. a san leandro resident was found suffering from gunshot wounds included shots from the head. the suspect is still on the loose. >> a missing man out of lafayette, his body has been recovered. he was reported missing from the sacramento river area back on september 2nd. he was up there with other college students were partying as part of an annual back-to-school celebration. thousands of the river. he was with friends who say they lost track of him in the crowd. one week later, his body was discovered in the sacramento river.

>> one woman is dead and a second woman injured in critical condition after a truck jumped a curb in walnut creek and his the two women on the sidewalk. this happened on saturday night. the two women were standing on the sidewalk on north main street when the red pickup truck was speeding. it went up on the sidewalk, hit the women and crashed into a wall. the driver of the truck was injured and had to be extricated. the woman who was killed, her name is excuse me, we have her age as law. she is 52 years old. her name was sherry hicks. she was killed and another woman was injured. >> it really breaks my heart. >>darya: police say that the suspect is going to be charged. he was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. damocles' arrested a homeless
